Seriously, why would anyone EVER do cleans if they can't rack the weight? If you can't do a front squat properly, chances of a doing a proper clean are less than zero.

I'm not sure, but that has the distinct look of 20% slop while doing Fran. 10 years from now she'll wonder why her wrists prevent her from doing everyday activities.

That was my thought. Fuck this faggot.

But props for the interesting approach to marketing. An open admission of faggotry to get the ball rolling.

That's actually genius marketing, registering here to spam links to their affiliate page. Speaks to igx's power as a brand arbiter.

Hop to it newbie, and post some andro broads from your box.

Warrior Training

The definition of a 'warrior' is, in general, two-fold. The first, "a person engaged or experience in warfare", is the most common definition. The second, "a person who shows or has shown great vigor, courage, or aggressiveness in politics or athleticism", is a less common connotation but easily understood especially in the fitness community.

CFHEL has a third, and much more philosophical, definition of 'warrior'. The definition of warrior in our terms is the same given my Miyamoto Musashi in The Book of Five Rings. According to Musashi, one who follows the path of the warrior must have a resolute acceptance of death - the question is only when and how. At first glance, this may seem to apply ONLY to the professional combatant. In our warrior training, however, failure is worse than death (death being accepted as a future state of life and failure being a rejection to engaged in life). Failure is A STATE OF MIND, not a state of consequence.

The purpose of warrior training (the path of being a warrior) is to build an indomitable spirit and iron will; to believe that you cannot fail in doing anything. Even when UNSUCCESSFUL, the warrior learns from missed attempts and continues to make subsequent attempts until the goal is attained. FAILURE occurs when the ego wins out due to the FEAR of being unsuccessful (the ego's death) and eliminates the courage to TRY. Failure also occurs in the action of QUITTING - this also originates from the ego, having been unsuccessful once the ego fears another assault. The path of the warrior requires and trains the individual to find success even in the unsuccessful. It is this STATE OF MIND that enables the warrior to NEVER FAIL.

At CFHEL, we train individuals to be warriors. Not combatants. The tools developed through our training has transference to every daily life task because it alters the individual at the level of MIND as well as body. This is the heart of being a warrior - a STATE OF MIND that accepts all of LIFE, the inevitability of death as well as an nonacceptance of failure, which is the rejection of life.

Another gem:
I want to be clear from the beginning - THIS PROGRAM IS DESIGNED FOR STRENGTH, NOT SIZE! How you train - in and out of the Lab - will determine your 'hugeness'. In the Lab, you have to do sets of 8-12 or more to stimulate hypertrophy (increase in muscle mass). This produces a specific response to the muscles forcing them to grow is size. Supplement that with lots of meat, milk, and beer out of the Lab and you will 'get huge' (google Bodybuilding for more information).

The training program we are doing, on the other hand, are sets of 5 (strength and power), 3 and 1 (strength/force production alone). This elicits a different stress response in the muscles which causes strength without mass. Many athletes train for this adaptation where strength is desirable and mass is not, i.e. soccer, water polo, track and field, etc. If you supplement with meat, milk, and beer you will get bigger due to several factors (see Ken for nutritional guidance), but if 'huge' is not your thing then eat light and healthy - you will still get stronger without getting too much 'bigger'. (Jeff R - down that milk bro!)

Really! Show tits or GTFO. Isn't there a sticky for all these Newbs (I realize the obvious)? Just in case you fucking new folks or recently disillusioned assfitters or lurkers haven't done the following.......

1) Read the entire couch thread before posting (yes, this takes months, but STFU and do it as it will help you to understand who the players are, and more importantly prevents you from posting stupid shit that no one really cares about). This is an absolute requirement.

2) Newbs should spend more time posting images of Andro than idiotic shit about Japanese warriors and what failure or diet is. No one gives a fuck. And if you haven't done #1, then what you are posting probably isn't going to be appropriate.

3) Post your bio elsewhere on the site as no one here gives a fuck.

4) There are more, but these are the important ones.

Until then, Andro or GTFO (and just in case you don't know what this is - Get The Fuck Out). Sometimes it is better to STFU (Shut The Fuck Up) and listen (or read in this case) than post stupid worthless shit.

Who Said It?

"There's nothing like the couplet. I hope you're programming lots of couplets."

A.) Dave Castro
B.) Greg Glassman
C.) Mikki Martin
D.) John Welbourn
Ding, ding, ding! We have a winner -- Jami got it right. Mikki Martin -- of CrossFit Kids and CrossFit Brand X -- uttered those words at a recent Kids Cert. (Although credit should also be awarded to Coach Glassman as the answer, as the Martins -- along with so many of us -- learned this and much more from Coach Glassman.)

Thank god Couch came up with the idea to put two exercises together.

then http://www.board.crossfit.com/showthrea ... post756368
Mainsite WOD's are not random. There is a long-term planning to the WOD's. The fact that no one seems to be able to "crack the code", or that no one involved in the planning and posting of the Main Page WOD's has seen fit to share the proprietary template with us is not de facto proof that they are random. I converse with these folks on a weekly basis; they find the ongoing "controversy" about the so-called randomness of the Main page to be laughable.
They say a lot of stupid things that a lot of people believe, but c'mon a proprietary template.
