The moralizing that sometimes gets played out in this thread kills me. Yeah, it's all about attention, but, holy fuck, this thread is nothing but attention for @F. I'm astonished at the places I see someone quoting some bullshit from this thread.

Hmmm. As a former affiliate coach, I think I have a unique perspective here. I don't care if people work out half naked. I don't care if people like to have pictures of their bodies before and after. In fact, I think its great when people are proud of their before and after shots. Bodies are beautiful, mostly for what they can accomplish, and people should never be ashamed of them.

What has gone on here, for quite some time, is a rampant and ridiculous attention whoring that is above and beyond the call of duty. And in her article, where she, yet again, calls attention to her "abs", she has a way of justifying her behavior that is not foreign to me, in fact I've seen it quite often. Narcissism, attention-whoring, you name it, she is the subject of that article, not her family, not her kids, not anyone else in the world, and I suspect that's how she lives her life. Because that's how she comes across in everything else that she writes and in writing an article and having a blog, she is trying to be an influence to others.

Its not just the pictures, its not just the abs, its the self-centeredness, the "everybody-look-at-me-now", the complete dissociation from reality. Now, to be fair, if I were her coach, I would think there were some deep-seated insecurities there. For someone to have gotten to regionals and to think that their "abs" are the only thing people care about is pretty off-balance.

So, I will call her a whore. Because I think she is an unrepentant self-serving seeker of immediate gratification. She could be so much more if she chooses to, but she has a lot of perspective to gain and growing up to do. If the public persona that she is putting out is NOT who she really is, then she needs to seriously review how she presents her public image because I am clearly not the only one who thinks this.

Compared to the vast majority of females out there (at least here, in the US) the @fit chicks work hard and build fucking fantastic bodies.

I think I'd find any excuse to take off my shirt if I had a carved up 6 pack, so I don't find it too upsetting when an androbroad does the same. In fact, I like it.

And I think the reason some females might not like it is because they wish they could also have a @fit body. Tale as old as time.

Let me put it into perspective.

So, imagine you are a medical resident. This is hard. Long hours, lots of work. You have two young children at home that your wife is supposed to be taking care of. All of a sudden, she's training multiple times a week with a a younger, single male and putting the kids in day care so she can train. She gets really buff and starts posting pictures of herself posing in a bikini for men she doesn't know all over the internet. How do you feel?

But then again, maybe he doesn't care which is why she feels the need to go here. But, sounds like he does.

Marriage is a pretty complex system, and I don't think getting one side of a single issue in the form of a blurb on a blog is enough to really understand the underlying dynamics between two people.

I'm just saying, it's not uncommon for women with nice bodies to be attacked by women who may not have as nice of bodies. It's also not uncommon for those attacks to be justified by some other reason (like, her husband clearly HATES it, she is such a skank!).

You're right. A lot of women grumble about other women out of jealousy.

My comments were directed at her article, that I thought I could relate to, because we have quite a few things in common, but ultimately could not relate to, because I find her perspective and priorities to be very skewed.

Read the article, read my comments, you might see my point, you might not. But, I've seen a lot of women like her in my circles (both fitness and social) and I'm not surprised by her behavior. And, I've seen what it leads to.

Tamara, girl, you are better than this. Find your inner strength, find a shirt, and give your husband some peanut butter!

Does she have great abs? Sure.

I agree on the amenorrhea issue in the six-pack-chix. As these "models of @Fitness" get older, they'll wonder how they did so much weight training only to end up with osteoporosis. I posted stuff on this and the Female Athlete's Triad a long time ago. It would appear that there is now a male presentation of the same thing, only with the @F guys it is low test.

I personally am just sick of seeing THE SAME DAMN PICTURE of her in different bikinis all over the web. Why is it always the same picture? Abs are not always a result of hard work. Genetics plays a huge role. My daughter, who eats a LOT of junk food and never exercises has visible abs and an ample gorgeous ass. The only time in my life I had visible abs, I also had visible muscle striations in my ass, my legs looked like a Kenyan marathoners, and all my friends thought I had cancer. Not worth it. Life has to be balanced. I don't do it every day, but I will never, ever again give up getting drunk and eating pizza with friends and family.
