I'm not entirely sure if he was joking or not.-Dale Saran, Esq
The KKK doesn't want the bad publicity they would get if they got mixed up with @F.

The Most Dangerous Man In American Healthcare
Greg Glassman has looked at what is wrong with the health of Americans and he is willing to say what that is and say it out loud. He is willing to say that we as a people are unfit, and that this is the primary cause underlying our lack of health, and our accelerating need to spend money to cure disease. He is willing to say that the vast majority of the advice that we have received to fix this is flat out wrong, whether it comes from the government or the cover of Fitness Magazine. He is willing to say the the road to economic salvation in American Healthcare leads through the gym, the grocery store, and the kitchen, not to or through something as meaningless as an “Accountable Healthcare Organization” (whatever that may be). Although he is convinced that he is right he is presently spending gobs of his own money studying the effects of the Crossfit prescription on the health of regular people.

Yup, Greg Glassman is right, and he doesn’t care that all of the so–called experts in healthcare don’t know who he is yet, or that they wouldn’t agree with him if they did. Judging by what’s going on in the physical fitness world right now as Crossfit grows 30% PER MONTH, I’d say that makes Greg Glassman the most dangerous man in American healthcare.

I read that stupid bullshit today.

The only thing Gregg Glassman's dangerous to is a bottle of gin. And shoulders, hips, backs.......

A scientist at heart, Glassman digested this information and in 2008 made the following statement: fitness is a proxy for health.
The only thing this guy digested besides a bottle of Grey Goose is a bunch of bratwurst covered in mustard and sauerkraut. :finga:

+1

Don't forget, he's extremely dangerous to neuroendocrine systems as well. 20-something guys with total T in the 200's and 20-something gals losing their periods (as in, infertile, which would be "unfit" by the old fertility definition of "fitness") are pretty common and not very openly discussed.

Fitness: The ability to survive to reproductive age and produce viable offspring.
For guys solely interested in getting their nut off, an infertile woman may be attractive. That said, long term that woman is some significantly damaged goods health-wise.

Darrell's defense of his stance on that blog is weak, as usual.

I'm running into people in their late 20's and early 30's that are so messed up from the combo of exercise and dietary crap going around @F that I wonder if they will ever be right again, even under decent care.

Admit it. You'd still hit that depending on the level of tequila you already consumed.

According to the @F PEDs policy, there could potentially be no PED testing at the gaymes, as none are required.
http://games.crossfit.com/terms/drugs?w ... frame=true
8. Selected Types of Drug Testing

• Championships Testing

CrossFit Games individual/team championships events, selection of athletes may be based on random selection or position of finish.

• Unannounced Random Testing

All registered athletes who have signed the drug-testing consent form are subject to unannounced random testing. This includes at Sectional and Regional events for the CrossFit Games, and/or any other CrossFit sanctioned athletic events. Random selections will be generated electronically, maintaining objective and unbiased athlete selection.

· Reasonable Suspicion Screening

An athlete may be subject to testing at any time when CrossFit determines there is individualized reasonable suspicion to believe the participant is using a prohibited substance. Such reasonable suspicion may be based on objective information as determined by CrossFit, and deemed reliable by such. Reasonable suspicion may include, without limitation, 1) observed possession or use of substances appearing to be prohibited drugs, 2) arrest or conviction for a criminal offense related to the possession or transfer of prohibited drugs or substances, or 3) observed abnormal appearance, conduct or behavior reasonably interpretable as being caused by the use of prohibited drugs or substances. If suspected, CrossFit will arrange for a no notice drug test. Note: The possession and/or use of banned substances may be determined by means other than urinalysis. When an individual is found to be in possession and/or using such substances, he/she will be subject to the same procedures that would be followed in the case of a positive urinalysis.
What a farce. This allows them to witch-hunt non-believers and leave their favorites alone.

Based on that last part, I could just imagine someone from HQ planting something in a target's bag to be found at an opportune time.

It is so interesting to me to see how so many people are affraid of CrossFit and have to bash it to rationalize their fear.

Dangerous? Well, my practice has done well from him so far.
Two shoulder and one knee patient from @fit zealots (one of them I even forewarned on the shoulder).

Ohh, and the middle @fit chick that Quack posted looks like that (farily plain IMHO) British princess that everyone was raving about.

My practice has received quite a few more than 3 patients, I'll leave it at that. My buddy's kettlebell-focused gym is regularly getting fallout from the local @Fs and other silly bootcampers who are tired of re-injuring themselves.

We don't have an @fit on every corner down here, yet.

Ironically, I was mostly responsible for the early @F infection in my area. One just opened up a two minute walk away from my house.
