The top 6 teams will compete for the title. In an unprecedented final event, the slate is wiped clean and the Affiliate Cup Champion will be determined by this one event alone.

So CFNE's commanding lead in the Teams Events means shit now? Their affiliate status must be on the bubble.

I assume none of the affiliates knew that going in... Wow, that's pretty awesome to spring that on them on the very end... I guess they'll learn one way or another!

I know jack shit about @fit, but what the fuck is the point of having events and keeping score if, regardless of that score, a final event decides the winner?

You essentially had a week long warm-up.

Apparently, this was announced in advance, but no one freaking out had noticed before.

We also have a big announcement about the team competition. The structure is substantially different from any other Affiliate Cup event we've ever done. Friday and Saturday's events now constitute a Team Qualifier. They will follow the same point format as the other divisions. But instead of trying to accumulate points toward their overall total, each and every team will be battling throughout the weekend just to be one of the top six teams at the end of Saturday.

Then, on Sunday morning, the slate is wiped clean. Just like the Olympic finals in the 100m dash, the top six teams lay it all on the line in one epic final event. One race, six lanes, and a format never before used in the Games, the winner of this final event alone will determine the 2011 Affiliate Cup champions.

In other words, the battle on Friday and Saturday is to become one of the six teams in Sunday's final. On Sunday, all six teams begin equal, there's one epic event, and it's on. Win the final event, win the Affiliate Cup.

So yeah, tempest in a teapot. I over-reacted. Carry on.

That was no surprise. They made that known in advance when they explained how many exercisers would be cut and after which rounds. If an affiliate claims not to have known that, then they're;
A. Weren't paying attention
B. Stupid.
C. Both

Only 6 out of 43 teams made the finals so the "warm ups" counted. Fuck, am I defending this shit ?

it's the same story as all the fucktards freaking out when they realized they couldn't get access to the video. the day the event started, they realized they didn't get espn3? they can't be bothered to pay attention, think for themselves, and check things out ahead of time. almost like they're used to being told what to do, and never have to think for themselves...
