Judging by every pic I've seen of the 99%, they seem to be a well-fed bunch. I'm guessing that Ty-dye fatty in this pic is a big fan of Wendy's dollar menu. I wonder how many of the 99% donate to food shelters or anti-hunger causes?

Nappy, there's a strong correlation between poverty and obesity. 99% also represents a broad cross section of Americans, who are a chubby crowd generally.
One of the downsides of the Internet is that it allows like-minded people to form communities, and sometimes those communities are stupid.

I know this. I also find it interesting that so many of the 99% have cameras that retail for $1k+ and I have to wonder how many have iPhone plans. I'm guessing many more have iPhone plans than mortgages....those with mortgages are working or looking for work, not protesting. I also find it interesting that people of color are largely and conspicuously missing from these protests. Homies must be saying: "yo' dawgs, chill!....don't be bringing attention to my subsidized solutions and shit!"

Well, that's true, but I'm not sure the people in those photos would be classified as "in poverty."

My theories on poverty/obesity connection:
1. Healthy food is expensive. Junk food is generally cheap. Poor people buy cheap food. Easier to get fat on cheap food. Junk food is cheaper because it's made with products that are cheaper, and part of the reason they are cheaper is because producers of those products have their hands in the government.
2. Wealthier people have more leisure time, which they are able to spend on exercise and sport. Poorer people are either working during time that others would spend in leisure, or they lack desire to exercise. Working class jobs are more physically fatiguing.
3. Less societal pressure to be slim and fit if you are in the lowest class of society.
4. Ignorance or lack of desire/discipline to have healthy BMI.

That picture somes up the whole movement.

Same tired socialist ideas. Same group of idiots.

They don't want government to change. They want the march towards collectivism and trynany to continue. The Welfare state is in the beginning stages of imploading and these dumb bastards haven't even woken up to this fact. Like spoiled children they want their Gvt Healthcare, Social security, Welfare, Gvt financially supoorted green jobs, Gvt supported and protected industries, Gvt supported higher education. Not realizing that it was these ideas are the causing the our problems. Plus, on top of their hubris, they demand some else pay for it. Now we have run out of other peoples money and the death spiral begins.

They're like diabetics, whos pancreas had finally stopped producing insulin, but still demanding a bakers dozen of glazed donuts.

I have nothing in common with these people. I hate them, the politicians, the public sector unions, and the corporations.

well said sir.
No it's not, it's borderline retarded. You can't sum up any complex social movement with a single picture. The very idea is dumb.

What is border line retarded is you have yet to tell me what I have in common with this group of socialist. I can sure as hell sum up a social movement in with that picture, because I've actually listened to what these people say. I'm currently in Seattle and have actually talked with these fools. They don't want to reduce the size of government. They want the welfare state to continue marching on and are mad that the piggy bank has run dry. They mistakenly believe that corporations have stolen their welfare candy and only if we tax the shit out of those evil corporations there would be enough money to fund their pipe dreams, never ending cotton candy, and unicorn rides for all.
Arms are the only true badge of liberty. The possession of arms is the distinction of the free man from the slave.

I prefer dangerous freedom over peaceful slavery.

Testifying before the Senate subcommittee on investigations, Goldman executives denied withholding information. They insisted there was nothing wrong with selling mortgage-backed products while placing bets against them.
They called it “risk management.” Most people call it stacking the deck.
Might be the time to find another scare and start another war.
