OK we went from Bongripper (Name of the year
) to Cough to Fistula. Anyone else see a progression here?

Re: Doom Metal
This was actually quite OK. The singer's often quite a bit off key, which is, in this case, actually a nice contrast to the over produced, auto-tuned mass production of today.Fat Cat wrote:

Yay, the other Weird Owl tune is nice too. Gonna listen to this. I don't care too much about genres, but would peg this in Stoner rather than Doom, but what do I know. Thanks!

Re: Doom Metal
Oh, I get it now after listening some more: Doom and Stoner is the same. It started with Sabbath.

Re: Doom Metal
It's a fuzzy distinction between doom and stoner, for sure some of the bands are more stoner but witchcraft is pure doom, for example. Others like Egypt kind of do a little of both. I don't like to get too into the subtaxonomies of metal. Glad you liked the Weird Owl, that's a great band I just discovered.Ice Nigger wrote:Yay, the other Weird Owl tune is nice too. Well fuck. I was going to suggest that everyone go check out http://www.stonerrock.com to bad if you follow that link, you get some sad, sad news....
This used to be a great place to go listen to all kinds of great stoner/doom stuff for free at a lower quality (which I always thought was a good thing).
