Dragonaut, by Sleep...the precursor to High on Fire. Probably more stoner than doom, but who's counting?
Re: Doom Metal
Candlemass has some really great songs.

Pentagram's from Woodbridge? No shit? I lived there for a year or so.
Re: Doom Metal
Stig I was having the same problem. You have to post the url from an original search as far as I can tell. So for your post above, I would go to the link you provided, search on the title, and then when you select it you get the old style url you can post like this:Ice Nigger wrote:Why can't I embed youtube vidoes anymore??? Re: Doom Metal
Katatonia's Brave Murder Day is the greatest doom metal album of the 90s.
Flash forward to 3:00 for the amazing part.
Guitarist/vocalist Michael Akerfeldt (also in Opeth) is in my opinion of the most talented musicians in metal.

Re: Doom Metal
I like this band because they're black/doom metal but got a little bit of groove in them.

Own production. Don't know if it's doom, but very much inspired by it. Just put a few hours into it during the last week and still needs some work: http://www.mikseri.net/artists/liiteri- ... ny/490986/

Some real good shit here. Thanks guys.
Re: Doom Metal
Damn Stigg, your one ecclectic Mutha!
Factory owner, BJJ competitor, racer and musician.
Is that all you on that demo?
Home recording is where it's at, fuck depending on 3-5 other guys, an A&R guy, contracts , studio cost ect ect. You can make albums in your own home with the soundquality that exceeds most of the albums we grew up on and all with in a reasonable expense.
One of the people who got me back into playing is moving back to my town, he's got alot of HR gear and is pretty good with it.
This year is all about getting my chops back and beyond what they were when I quite and writting songs and riffs. Casually playing with others when the oppertunity is there ( I know 1 Drummer and 2 Bassist that are up for some serious jammin as well as a buddy who I just like to paly guitar with.)
Kinda mapped out 1, 2,3 4, and 5 year musical goals. Over the next few years I intend to get savy on home recording and drum programming (any final recordings will have to have a real drummer though.) so by year 5 I can do my own album.

Re: Doom Metal
Darth, that's me on the guitars only. A couple of friends from work on drums, bass and vocal. I wrote this together with Toni (bass+vocals) last week. I play once a week with these guys and then a second time with some other guys + occasional jamming with various folks. I have a decent set-up in a shed on my back yard. E-drums, bass gear, a couple of guitar amps, about 5-6 guitars, some acoustic guitars, congas, bongos + some other percussion stuff, a piano (way fuckin' out of tune), an e-piano, a bunch of Sure 58 and 57 mics, PA mixer and a digital 4-tracker. I hardly consider myself a musician, but it's great fun to play. I quit practicing a long time ago and just enjoy the playing now. If any of you guys ever come around these hoods, we're going to jam for sure.

Sorry guys. Just listened to that shit myself and I had uploaded the wrong file where there was a couple of song tracks that should have been discarded. This is a bit better: http://www.mikseri.net/artists/liiteri- ... ny/491230/

Sorry if black metal doesn't somehow count as doom metal. :)
