I've been waiting on this since the first Reebok whispers. Really, since @fit started getting super popular a few years ago. We'll get to witness infighting over what "real" @fit is, who can call themselves true @fitters, and why every other version of @fit except what a particular gym does is shit.

It'll make the kettlewars and DD revolt look like a slap fight. I can't wait.
You think so? Seems to me the pattern is for people to join, get fanatic about it, and either burn out or quietly move on. New participants rotate in through the years, not remembering when it was all "underground" and "rebellious". Those who do are so deeply entrenched in the system they won't complain.

If you are dragging faggy-ass rings to the park with you and are not a lifelong gymnast you ARE an @Fitter.

Bullshit. Nothing wrong with doing some pull-ups and dips or some swings outdoors. Dan John even had an article stating as much. And if Dan says it, it must be gospel. Straight from the Angle's lips to Dan's ears to the pen.

If you're taking rings and KBs to the park, you may as well rest some testicles on your chin.

I think so. Once @fit is firmly entrenched at every big box gym right along side Zoomba and body pump you'll see the industrial park boxes struggling to attract the house wives @ $150/month. No way they want to go to the warehouse district to work out when they can go to the Golds in the shopping center. That will leave a much smaller pool of people for those thousands of @fit gyms on every street corner that don't have a Golds or Planet Fitness in their name. The only advertising tool they'll have is being more HardCoretm than @fit offered at the big box. Let the fighting begin.

The real infighting will come when the price wars start. Most boxes around here cost $150-$175 per month. One guy was charging $100/month. The rest of the "community" was up in arms and complaining that he was undervaluing the "product". What amazes me is that the sheeple didn't flock to his box. As they start opening a box in every strip mall a la Curves and @fit goes beyond rich white folks, wait for the pricing carnage to begin.

Especially when they realize the product is free on the CF website and any trainer with a lick of sense can teach CF style workouts.

But, you gotta have the style, so Reebok/HQ will continue to rake it in.

Awesome planning on HQ's part if you think about it. More prolific than Starbucks, no money trickling from the top down, and a multitude of newbies dying to look like badasses in their new CF Reebok gear.

Agree... rings are for gymnasts and KB's are highly overrated

A - this isn't the thread for your little introduction
B - why does every @fit gym have trainers that aren't "on the koolaid" yet the koolaid still flows like water down the Nile in the @fit world? Odd to me how there are so many "cool" @fit trainers but we see so many stupid fucking things
C - Great story, you are still a @fitter using that fucking wod shit

Reebok has become the new Affliction for @fitters... now if they made the gear trendy as hell, imagine the $$$

Here in Denmark, crossfit is already been implemented in the 2 biggest mainstream fitness chains. Not every single gym of theirs has it yet, but it is on its way there.
The original crossfit Copenhagen gym has now opened it's 5th franchise. Vikings love it.

This dude compares Crossfit to an extreme sport:

He goes about it in a pretty good way making his point.

Except that extreme sports are exciting to watch, not just fascinating in a horrid way.

I imagine it's the same reason that there are so many McDojo's out there, but everyone you talk to says the one they train at is the real deal and not a McDojo.
