Justified Season 3 discussion and spoilers

Post by baffled »

It may be my suppressed redneck, having started in Texas, having a few Okies and other hill jacks in my family etc, or maybe it's just a good show, but I like this better than SOA.

Let us discuss this after the premiere, for those who will be watching.

You're a good human.

I'm happy this is back. I think this episode is going to be awesome. I think we're off to a good start so far.

If SAMCROW had Rayland Givins on their case he would either bust all their asses or walk into the clubhouse and encourage a gunfight, leaving Clay, Jacks and crew dead mother fuckers.

Show rocks. Great charachters.

Funny, I got a friend who is in the ATF and was a US Marshall, I was a biker brat 10 months of every year from 3 to 12. He loves SAMCROW and is so so on Justified and I love Justified and am about done with SAMCROW. We have had SAMCROW parties and the hole 9 yards. I call bullshit or right on about biker life details on SAMCROW and he does the same with Justified. (Rayland would be on a permanent Training assignment do to his numbers of shootings, justified or not.)

I love how Raylan played the Icepick guy tonight. Kind of the principles of JuJutsu in what he did. Made the enemy think his hand would be were it was'nt, used his overcommitment to easily grab the gun and put a .45 in him. NICE!!!!!

I missed season 2 last year and have been watching it on DVD (Ol Lady stole the free Tshirt that came with it.) fucking great shit.

I hope the show is around for a few years and I look forward to letting my kids watch it when older, I know I would have liked Rayland as a kid. Fucking fave show was the Equalizer when I was about the oldest boys age.

Can't wait to watch this.

IMO one of the most overused, gay Americanisms is ''so and so is the man''.

It's not remotely gay to say that Rayland Givins is the man.

Was it just me, or did the end with Boyd only reinforce your impression that he's a pretty sharp criminal? I foresee a Dicky stabbing in the yard in the immediate future.

Definitely.

Criminal mastermind. I think this season's got the much overused word "explosive" written all over it. It's gonna be redneck TOTALWAR on this motherfucker.

I feel like the women are going to play a much bigger role this year.

Eva's kind of a given, considering Boyd's in jail and she's kind of the boss on the outside after she cracked that dude in the head.

Winona... she's got to be threatened or something, right?

I like the opening timeline too.

Listen bitch, we won't have any of that reality bullshit in this thread. This is about "the man" and "explosive" television. Keep your common sense and reasonable observations to anti-Semitism threads and conversations on waist size.

I have no interest in fiction and no interest in "stories" so I find it odd that so many men (?) seem to enjoy plopping down on the couch to watch fake characters in fake drama doing fake shit. It's embarrassing, men. Your grandpa was killing Nazis by the score and you're sitting around your damn living room hoping your wife will buy you a Justified gunbelt at Walmart next time she's out! Shame!

Fuck Man, I average 1 History book a week. Read newspapers, mags, all kinds of reality sometimes you just want to sit back and escape. I also really dig good writting and acting.

So why you spending the time to shit on Raylan and Boyd?

In RL, Boyd would be a I.G. regular.

Guy's, how about when Ava gave the dumbfuck minion the cast iron attitude adjustment. I love that Bitch.

My grandfather was an engineer for Dole during WWII and was in the Philippines. At least that's the story. He technically wasn't a citizen yet. While he was a tough and very mean person, he would have been an awful soldier. Just an awful human being.

This has nothing to do with Justified.

Proto, you're dead to me. And I don't need a Justified gunbelt. I have the Lone Ranger one still from when I was a boy.

edit:
I'm sure as fuck not Filipino, btw.

My 1911A1 sat in the 1911 version of the Biancci Raylan has. Replaced it 3 years ago with a nylon Thigh rig I set up at pretty much the same position Raylan carries his. It's a good way to carry , on the side but toward the front of the hips instead of on the side or canted back. I pull better from that position. Who ever does the technical advissor shit on the show knows his shit. This is for better retention IMO should something happen up close. You cant "Justify" pulling your pistol in a scuffle but I still dont want the other guy getting it or restricting my H2H options.

This is one prob with the "Magnum" carry in the waistband when I had that scuffle in my yard. I could have done a picture perfect Judo throw but I did not want to have my weapon pressing into him if the throw failed.

Though the show is a just a TV show there are moments when it mimics reality. The gunfights are pretty damn realistic (and 1,000 times better than on SAMCRO, wich has had a few A-Team shoot outs.)

This and Collateral have the best depictions of modern combat pistol craft IMO so far. The Killer was the best over the top gunplay though.

created by Elmore Leonard. These were novels long before the series.

Love the shot of the white haired dude from Detroit (?) killing the bourbon, slamming down the glass next to the bottle of Pappy Van Winkle before he starts shooting. I really wish I had some now.

Great show. Based on an Elmore Leonard story, "Fire in the Hole." Leonard just came out with a new book, "Raylan." Basically, he did it like Justified. It's 3 stories where the characters from one turn up briefly in the others. Just good Leonard shit, and favorably reviewed on the front page of the NYT book review last week.

What the writers and producers understand about Leonard is that he is funny in a very understated way. Justified does that.

Nice. I hadn't realized that he'd finished the Raylan story yet.

Is it best to read Fire In The Hole first, and then Raylan, or can it stand on its own considering the show is kind of the basis for the Raylan book.
