Anybody else think Froome is stronger than Wiggins? Any chance he gets the push?

Yup and Nope.

Sean Yates is an old hardnose rolleur from the Motorola days. He's spent to many years carrying water not to respect the system.

Froome will stay leashed. Best hope for an interesting tour is Nibali.

Luxembourg rider Frank Schleck is out of this year's Tour de France after failing a drugs test. The 32-year-old, who finished third in last year's race, tested positive for the diuretic Xipamide on 14 July.
.
His RadioShack-Nissan team said they withdrew him from the race so he could prepare a defence.

“It was like he got a hammer on his head. He doesn't know anything about where the product comes from”: RadioShack-Nissan spokesman Philippe Maertens on Schleck's reaction

Cycling's world governing body, the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI), informed Schleck of his failed test earlier on Tuesday and requested his removal from the Tour, even though its anti-doping rules do not require a provisional suspension.

Maertens said: "He tested positive for Xipamide. It's not a performance-enhancing product, but it's forbidden.
"The team doesn't know where that product comes from.
i suspect it was from some tainted spanish beef. poor guy. sounds innocent.

would a diurectic be used to flush traces of the good stuff?

Voeckler is a tough little frog.

And I'm a day behind so at stage 16 it looks like Evans is out of the hunt.

Reminds me of Ricky Bobby and Cal Naughton Jr.

The French hate Voeckler?

News came out the day before that implicated him in big doping scandal form 2011.
Thomas Voeckler says he’s been heckled and even spit upon by French fans, but that isn’t stopping him from enjoying his banner ride in Wednesday’s 11th stage at the Tour de France.

Voeckler (Europcar) was all smiles after winning his third career Tour stage and claiming the King of the Mountains jersey, despite skepticism from some French fans lining the road.

“People were whistling at me and even some were spitting,” Voeckler said after the stage. “I do not care. They can say what they want. I know I have done nothing wrong. This victory means the world to me.”

The source of the fans’ angst is an investigation that French prosecutors opened just before the start of the Tour into alleged nefarious activities surrounding Voeckler’s team during its 2011 Tour
He gets a of shit for not being a better racer, riding for stages and not the jersey...which is brutal considering he held the jersey in 2004 longer than any Frenchman is recent memory.

I have a dislike for Chav that exceeds reason but that was a pretty nice turn today. Having the Yellow as first leadout man this close to the end is an extremely gutsy and classy move by Yates. It's been boring but Sky is putting a stamp on it.

Yeah Wiggins tried to get Froome to go for the stage win yesterday but he hesitated. I think it was because of the negate press from the stage or two he ran off and left Wiggins.

I'll be surprised if Froome is with Sky next year. That kid is a beast.

Froome is playing the team politics card very well. Obvious to all how strong he is, yet 100% focused to Wiggins winning the GC. In a recent interview he couldn't be more blantant when he said "This year only 3 mountain top finishes plus 3 time trials makes it a perfect tour for Wiggins, next year is like last year i hope the team would ride for me"
I'd say on the bottom of that self-actualisation pyramid shit, proper decent coffee is in there with wifi, tits, food and shelter

He hasn't been racing for the green jersey. He's saving his strength for the Olympics.

I get annoyed when the telecast shows the head-on view of the sprint, a bunch of bikes waggling and some guy raises his hands randomly. You get no sense of the explosive acceleration of the sprinters like you do when you watch the overhead view. When they showed this one again from overhead...whoaaa...those two guys that had been leading, and certainly going as fast as they could, looked like they were going backwards when Cav went by.

One of these days, a compact light race radio/helmet cam will be worn by a big sprinter and you might even get some notice from american fans...so fun/ugly/scary/freaky being in a big bunch sprint on the road or track.
