Does that imply that DB curls are NOT safe?protobuilder wrote:What does this even mean? One of the core beliefs of the CrossFit program is that functional movements are inherently safe.
Re: The couch thread
All movement is unsafe,if you do them wrong.
You`ll toughen up.Unless you have a serious medical condition commonly refered to as
"being a pussy".
"being a pussy".

re: Ager video - isn't "programming WODs" just throwing together a bunch of movements to make your tired and on the verge of vomiting? Don't they see it as somewhat terrifying that someone without a training background, after 1-2 years, is a 'master' at "programming WODs"

Re: The couch thread
Programming is the next term to end up overused and abused into meaningless, much as core and functional.
Re: The couch thread
I agree with this. The man in black wrote:Programming is the next term to end up overused and abused into meaningless, much as core and functional.
When I asked about "programming" and how to arrange it so as to "get my squat stronger" my coach just looked at me and said "What you have to do, Kenny, is stop being a little bitch, and just squat."
His philosophy, and the one that I have learned makes more sense than anything else, is that Just Getting The Fucking Work Done, is the most important thing in any "program." all the rest is semantics. And it isn't worth arguing about. You can do 5/3/1 or the TM or any other program you want (usually) and if you're dedicated, it'll work. Only problem here is that there's a lot of idiots spending too much time and energy doing things that suck balls- like high-rep box jumps after pulling volume DL's.
I never brought up programming again.

Actually- I never did @Fit. I was a member of Rip's Cult of Personality before I put the milk down, lost 80 pounds and started thinking for myself.Shafpocalypse Now wrote:This thread is full of born-agains....LULZ.

Re: The couch thread
Rip's cult is full of fat boys who are struggling with 235x5 low bar back squats and whining about how the Crossfit girls won't even look at them.
Re: The couch thread
The Crossfit girls are looking at them and laughing, wondering why they always look down at a 45 degree angle when squatting.Shafpocalypse Now wrote:Rip's cult is full of fat boys who are struggling with 235x5 low bar back squats and whining about how the Crossfit girls won't even look at them.

Sooner or later it's good to stop worshipping Internet S&C Gurus, and just do things (intelligently) that you enjoy for no other reason than because you can.

Fwiw, if she's a good coach, I hope she succeeds, but the idea of unabashedly begging strangers for money to help open a gym puzzles me.

If it weren't for the 'comments' section, the internet would be one-third the fun:

CrossFitters…Don’t stoop to the level of muscleheads like Wayne (sounds like Whine) and Chris…they have no clue what CrossFit is, what it does and the fact that the Military, Navy Seals, a majority of Law enforcement and Fire Depts are all doing CrossFit…I know this because I train with them. Do you really think that Boot Camp for the Military would change what they have been doing for over 150 years for a “Fad”
