If White has half a brain, he'll roll out a Sonnen vs Jones season of TUF with a quickness.

This makes MMA higher variance once you get out of the lowest weight classes. E.g., Miguel Torres dominates for years, but Sera catches GSP and it's over.

AND...boxing has been more tightly scripted and controlled than Dana White's most intense wet dream. MMA is far more competitive and frankly, far less evolved..Let's keep it that way

I just saw on Twitter that Machida turned down the fight and now Jones is fighting Belfort.

And the Bloody Elbow is reporting that Anderson Silva called Dana and offered to fight at 205 to save the show but they had already cancelled the PPV.

Ninja I may not do the drugs but I'm all for pro athletes doing them in copious amounts.

I'm not surprised that Machida declined. He's just gotten his stride back and wants to make money winning some events before taking a risk on Jones. In the meantime, the champ may stumble and make his job that much easier when he does angle for a title shot.

I can dig that. I love the move Silva made. I wonder if he's trying to kill some of GOAT aura surrounding Jones.

The Silva thing is kayfabe, it's not an accident he waited until after the event was cancelled to speak up.

I got that same vibe. I can't think of the name of his manager but you can almost bet he knew there was no way that Silva would have to fight when he put him on the phone with Dana.

Hell I'm kind of interested in MMA again. You know there is going to be a shitstorm coming from Sonnen, Silva may see this as a chink in Jones armor and possibly consider a match, and we get to see the Phenom fight again. And if Vitor gives Jones any problem I can see Machida, Sonnen, and Silva licking their chops at getting a shot at Jones. Plus now with all the fighters losing their chance to fight on PPV the free fights on Fuel are looking damn good.

No. Vitor WAS a stone cold murderer 15 years ago.

He didn't fight at all in 2010. In 2011, he got smoked by Anderson Silva in 2011 and then beat up Akiyama (who has lost 4 in a row now, including getting choked out by Chris Leben). In 2012, he choked out Anthony "I can't make weight...ANY weight!" Johnson who is now out of the UFC.
