my stepdad hates Obama and thinks his reelection is the end of the country

the past 2 years, his corporate employer has handed out 100% bonuses at the end of each year

100%!

But Obama has ruined everything.

I'd argue this has nothing to with the president and everything to do with the "evil greedy fat cats" running the business, making the right decisions and seizing opportunities when presented to grow the business.

No change for me, I am responsible for creating my lifestyle and it's no one else's fault if I fail.

More or less this.

I also live in California, the worst governed state in the nation, so it doesn't really matter who's in office, it's rough going. Even for a (more or less) one man search engine geek.

Haha, I live in TX, so I am also (somewhat) insulated who's running the country, we pretty much have our own economy. I, though, don't have the social safety nets to fall back on here... the flip side is TX provides much more opportunity when compared to the blue state I lived in up north.

What are safety nets?

I keep hearing how we have lavish social programs out here, but I've seen little money go to people who actually contribute, and far too much going to the stereotypical lazy minority.

I'm looking to relocate back to Texas or maybe up into the Seattle area. Austin and Seattle have a lot of nerds who do the stuff I do. Second and third only to the Silicon Valley area, but I'm ready to get back to real 'merica and out of the People's Republic.

I have, for a one year old's birthday party.

I got incredibly drunk. The next week at his somewhat late baptism, I got incredibly drunk again.

I guess things are a little better with Obama in office since I never got shitfaced at first birthdays or baptisms during Dubya's reign.

Fuuuuuuuuuck.

I haven't had to pay for an abortion since Obama was elected, so I'm up $450 more or less.

I was better off during the Bush years, or I'm worse off now, depending on how you look at it, through absolutely nobody's doing but my own.
I don't have a lot of experience with vampires, but I have hunted werewolves. I shot one once, but by the time I got to it, it had turned back into my neighbor's dog.

I make more money during the Obama era: my doing
I am less healthy during the Obama era: mostly my doing
My home is worth a lot less now than it was during the Bush era: ACORN and Barney's doing

I don't like The Obama at all, but blaming him for one's piss poor quality of life is silly. No one's doing but their own, I heartily concur.

I'd expand the typical lazy minority to include bailed out banksters in NYC, gubmint employees who were the focus of O's giant stimulus and are minions of the Dumbocrat party, and the multi-millionaires and billionaires in business who rape the people with the tax "incentives" they extortionated from all levels of gubmint.

Yeah, we do the union thing like nobody else out here. Almost every municipality out here is at risk of going bust over their union obligations.

Stockton is, or was, trying to get out of paying creditors so they can pay their unions instead. Because that's how it's supposed to work. Of course... Stockton is an amazing place to go, a wonderful place to raise your family, and the kind of place where sensible people would love to invest to help them get back on their feet again. That is, if you like Mexicans, Pakis, shwoogies and assorted white trash.
