When i am in a situation surrounded by the profile of folks who do this, i am on more on guard than when i was dealing with armed Afghanis. The difference is most Afghanis can speak some English.

And in both situations i know for sure who is getting knocked out quickly if any threatening behavior occurs. And finished.

K, don't know if you saw the original viral video. It starts off with a news segment, but then segues into unrelated video, non-Knockout attacks, strung together in such a way as to look like a news expose' about "a disturbing new trend."

It wasn't. They put in videos that had nothing to do with knockout. Then the video header and surrounding talks about "new Knockout game" black kids in NJ have invented, which was false. Throw in some web interviews with knuckelheads. All designed to get people spun up, and worked really well.

All bullshit. This has been around since forever, it isn't news, isn't specific to blacks or Americans, violent attacks are way down in the average American IGx'er's lifetime.

So a more accurate story might be, "Random violence still happens, though less often than it used to."

I live in the hood. When I get on the subway in the morning I'm usually the first whitey to board the train. I sometimes walk a whole block without seeing another white face. I can't even carry a gun. All I have to protect me are my wits, my fists, and my wine opener. And yet I walk without fear. It helps that I'm the baddest white boy in the hood, but this shit just isn't my mind when I come home from work, usually at midnight or later.

So it's your contention that this violent fad doesn't exist, and that those reporting that it does have anti-black racial motives?

Agreed. It's clearly racially motivated in many, if not most, instances. It's also statistically rare. I'd wager you're more likely to get struck by lightning than to get randomly punched in the head by ANY person, regardless of their race. The freaking out over it is race baiting, in the opposite direction of what we usually see in the media.

This "knock out game" meme is a legitimate news story even if you're correct and it needs to be debunked (and I suspect that it is a real, though minor, fad). My point being the pretrial media conviction of Zimmerman and the Duke lacrosse players, etc. while the same media does contortions to avoid even the appearance of "racism" by mostly "talking around" this story. It's pernicious, racially divisive, and agenda driven IMO.

The victim was attacked by 17-year-old Marvell Weaver. But Weaver did more than try to knock his victim out, he tried to do it with a taser. Luckily for the victim, the taser didn't work and he was able to protect himself with his concealed-carry .40 caliber pistol.

"He shoved something into my side. I wasn't sure what it was. It had some force to it. I wasn't sure if it was a knife or a gun," said the victim.

Weaver was shot twice, in the leg and an inch away from his spine. He's been sentenced to a year in jail for the attack, but he admits he's getting off easy.

Black on black crime, statistically, is a much bigger problem (a problem your city has a long history of ignoring).

However, it all depends on where you live.
