Before that shit with EU assotiation that idiot Yanukovich was good guy. There were smiles and handshakings.
After he refused he immediately became tyrant. Dictatorship! Regime!
All this just shit.
An Putin don't need to show "look! nazis!". There a lot of videos where "rebellions" crying "knives fo russians".
It is armed coup. Thats is.

Lider of the most radical group "Right quadrant" Yarosh, on his site, urged Doku Umarov (chechen terrorist who took responsibility for eplosions in Volgograd) urged him to organize togethere with them some new actions in Russia.
Kadyrov answered him that Umarov already dead, but he (Kadyrov) promising to organize their sooner meeting.

Hey, what happened to that reset button?
On the up side Wild bill going to drafted! Have fun in military service Bill.
We aren't going to do dick and to be honest what could we do? What are our national interests in Ukraine again? Other than our membership in an outdated military alliance with a bunch of back stabbing european weasels that have never carried their own weight. Plus, the American people are not up for any more foreign wars and the Russians aren't a bunch of grab ass Arabs. Putin also just happens to have nukes. This is a great time to tell Europe it's their time to foot the bil in blood and treasure.
The Obama administration hasn't learned it's lesson from Syria. Don't talk tough and issue ultimatums unless you have the balls and ability to carry out your threats.
On a side note, I find the irony of the situation so fucking delicious. Didn't Romney get mocked by Obama and the Dems over his views regarding the Russians.

Romney said Russia was our #1 geopolotical foe. Given our interests in Ukraine hover somewhere between "Fuck all" and "Pretty sure Ukraine is in Russia," as of today, Romney's statement remains retarded.Batboy2/75 wrote:On a side note, I find the irony of the situation so fucking delicious. Obama is the best Republican president since Reagan.

Just so I'm clear, what specifically do you think Obama should do, what would you want him to do?
I hear "stand up to Putin", "be a man", etc.
What do those mean?

I'm gonna guess it's the opposite of whatever he's doing.Testiclaw wrote:Just so I'm clear, what specifically do you think Obama should do, what would you want him to do?
Russia barely beats Italy by GDP, with 2x the population. They're in a position for economic pressure to hurt. Since we have absolutely no reason to involve ourselves militarily, the realistic choices are either nothing, or what Obama is currently doing.

Re: Russia and Ukraine
Ukranian girls are pretty, though they tend to get large after giving birth. My very first love was Ukranian girl. They speak Russian with a typical accent, which is sometimes cute and sometimes resembles Redneck English. Western part of Ukraine is very anti-russian, while the rest is more or less neutral.
So... Legitimate president of Ukraine has been kicked out, his replacement is likely to be the woman who just got out of jail. Russian moves of assistance to the legally elected president are pre-warned with "deal with consequences" warning, though the "warner" is across the globe from the "warner" and has fuck all interest in Ukraine itself. I suspect its European allies will not want a war on their doorstep, and the whole thing will be limited to the vernacular for a hill and then will be forgotten by the media in couple of weeks.

Turd, what would/should/could Obama have done, in your opinion, that would've been ideal, in regards to the Ukraine situation?

it looks messy. Reducing European dependence on a single source for natural gas would provide stability for their economies, boost ours, and lessen Russian influence. Short of direct military action (which isn't likely at all), it's a little hard to fix a complex situation like this in the short term IMHO.

Fair enough.
I'd imagine that Putin would be pretty pissed if we opened up our NG exports right now, precisely when there's dick stomping going over there. But what could he really do, even if he took offense to it?

Sure thing. We are anxiously awaiting Obama's version of "Tear Down This Wall" speech. About as likely as you posting in the 500 million lines of code thread.Grandpa's Spells wrote:Romney said Russia was our #1 geopolotical foe. I'll admit that there isn't really anything Obama can do in the short run. A President McCain, Bush, Clinton, Kerry, Nixon, Johnson, Truman, Kennedy, Reagan, Roosevelt, name your President or alternate President; they wouldn't have many options. However, spouting empty threats isn't going to help Obama get out of this mess. Particularly, when the whole world knows you are full of shit. The more he talks the more he looks like a fool.
If Obama has any common sense he's throw open the spigot on natural gas and oil. Drive their respective prices into the toilet over a period of years. Do what Reagan and the Saudis did in the late 1980s. Deprive the Russian state of money. That's the first step to shitting in Putin's punch bowl. Not a complete solution, but a nice first step. Better than running your mouth.
