STAR WARS VII Offical prerelease thread!

Post by DARTH »

Of all the "Spoiler" rumpurs out there, this makes the most sense.

If I hear one more faggot moan they are not turning Zahn's Thrawn trilogy into these movies, i am going to spit their fucking skull.

The Thrawn trilogy would have been a good idea.

I need to do some reading because have no idea what is or isn't canon nowadays.

Doing movies based off EU stories from a standard style Sci Fi writer would kill it. Those books were good for what they were but think about them again.

The characters were too young for the same actors to play today anyways.

If half of "Spoiler man's" stuff comes true, that sounds like a good movie and a way to do it without the Luke thinks it and a whole battle fleet explodes nonsense the EU became. Yes he's the complete except for a hand offspring of his father making him the potential Jedi his father could have been, but not a God.

It took you seven hours to take that bait?

Agreed. The books were good in picking up the story but the timeline is entirely off.

"Spoiler Man" may be a troll but the ideas are better than anything else I have read. Having Luke in exile and making intermittent appearances would let them not explain why he is so fat now as well.

I hope they Alien and Predator origin stories tied in, so I'll know how the Prometheus guys came around.

That's going to be covered over here.

I thought that JJ Abrams did a good job with the new Star Trek.

Everybody I know who is a huge Star Trek fan would disagree with this.

This means that Star Wars could swing either way. I have hope but with Disney behind it not as much as possible.

Maybe Luke Skywalker will be mortally wounded by Leia and an act of true love will save him. And maybe there will be a talking snowman.

I'm an old school Star Trek fan and I loved Abrams work.

Don't worry. George Lucas has made some much needed additions to the new Star wars films.

Arms are the only true badge of liberty. The possession of arms is the distinction of the free man from the slave.

I prefer dangerous freedom over peaceful slavery.

I'm setting my expectationometer at zero. I'm just going to walk into the theater and see what I see.

basically I'm Raoul Duke trying to fit into a Philip K. Dick movie remake.

Torn.

There were five or six genuine feel-good moments that made it worth watching. Of course, even if there weren't, I would have watched it. The "spoilers" were such that anybody who didn't guess them either going in or within the first ten minutes of the film wasn't paying attention. Essentially, a $200m remake up Episode IV, which isn't necessarily a bad thing but when I realized Abrams had glossed over every important detail and simply not expanded the story...in any direction, I got pissed. When I read online that people are considering this perhaps the best of the entire series, it's even more than pissed.

Probably the 5th best movie of the series - old cast was fantastic, new characters more than a but 'meh'.

When will the "spoiler alert" safety catch be flicked and we can discuss it openly?

I liked it very much. I would probably make it 4th best of the whole series. There was nothing ground breaking plot wise, but I did like the characters Finn and Ray, Kylo Ren not so much, and the Chick in armor needed more screen time.
I think Abrams did a good job with the first new Star Trek movie, but that the second one was pretty bad.

A lot of copy and paste from episode 4, JMO.

Kylo-Ren was also a big fucking disappointment for me. I would have liked him 100% better if he would have left his mask on the entire time. Then I wouldn't have had to be reminded of the mongoloid with the four foot nose and children's drawing ears playing his part. At least Darth Vader had a reason for being disfigured.

Rey however... I liked her.... or maybe I mean :sperm:
