Went to an Italian wake last night. The deceased was the mother of a neighbor and not the reason why I'm mourning. I'm mourning the passing of the last vestiges of Italo-American cultural respect and civility.
It was pretty crowded and of all the people there, maybe 5% were old school dagos, dressed in black suits, shirts and ties. 20% looked like they may have had walk on spots in the Sopranos with either Members Only jackets or track suits, 60% looked as if they were waiting to get in the serving line at Sbarro's and the rest may have just walked in from the stoop. At least no one was wearing a wife beater.
I knew Long Island guido culture was driving the whole ethnic group into the toilet but when you can't even get the 40+ year old guineas to dress up for Nana's funeral, what the fuck is the world coming to?

Re: Mourning
I'm not even Italian and this saddens me.
Degeneracy reigns.

Re: Mourning
my experience too. someone needs to be shot in the head to get everybody in line.
