Fluid In Ear

I've had fluid in my left ear for weeks. It's not bad and I generally only feel it when straining. Went to the doc for something else a couple of weeks ago and he didn't see any infection or such.

I've tried using some heat but that didn't help.

Any recommended home remedies that don't involve homosexual acts or death?

Just a dab of H202 at a 3% solution.

Could be a little piece of hardened ear wax trying to get out. Try flushing with a kit from the drug store.
Once I had a hair grow inward. When I got a hold of it and pulled it out, it was about 4" long! Problem solved.

For a couple years, I had occasional fluidy/bubble-wrap popping sounds in my left ear. Nothing helped or changed it, it just came & went. Finally, it went away & didn't return. In short, I can't help you.

I get this pretty regularly. I use a little alcohol to dry it out. Mine stems from swimmers ear.

This. The two feel somewhat the same.

Agreed. I get the waxy buildup about once a year. I think mine comes from wearing earplugs a good bit a work and it gets pushed in and causes a fairly uncomfortable sensation of fluid in the ear canal.

The liquid wax softener in the kits doesn't work worth a shit for me, the the doc told me to use the same squeeze bulb from the kit and use it to flush luke warm H2O2/water mixture into the ear. A few bulb fulls and it works like a charm. Almost instant relief when the wax finally gives way and the pressure goes away.

You feel ear pressure when straining? Make sure it isn't middle or inner ear.
Check any tension in TMJ (jaw) up high the back of it, ad high in throat. This can hamper the eustachian tubes from being able to drain the middle ear. Google eustachian tube drainage, may show some avenues that help. Good luck.

So.....
I tried the H2O2 to no avail and worked on tension in the jaw area along with middle ear things. I think it's a middle ear problem and don't know what to do about it other than be patient.

FWIW my tinnitus is frequently louder than usual and my blood pressure is up noticeably. It was something like 130/70 and now it's around 143/80. Doc is keeping an eye on it. Resting heart rate has gone from around 64 bpm to 78 bpm.

I think I inherited my father's cardio vascular system instead of my mother's. Surprised by how much it's changed in a year. Meh.

Wife just had this - doctor said simple decongestant for the inner in addition to the stated home remedies for the outer.

It'd be good to rule out a CSF leak. Can be a serious problem.
