Fireworks accidents

Post by nafod »

So I am at Home Depot picking up some wood, and give the checkout counter dude my mil ID to get the discount. He mentions he's a veteran too (US Army), and I notice on one hand he is missing his pinky and ring finger. I point at it and ask, "Iraq?" and he says, no, firework accident a couple of years ago. He was holding (?!?!) a mortar tube like they use for real fireworks, and didn't realize it needed to be on the ground to fire. Fired the round, the tube went down, the charge blew up where his hands were.

Doh
