Elite Fitness Power Rack

Post by Scott Shetler »

Finally got my power rack in and it was worth the wait, just like my GHR. I got the sick of your gym "A" package which actually was the rack and bench combo (I got it with additional weight racks on the back end of it), sled w/straps, texas power bar +445lbs of plates, and a couple boxes of chalk. Sled and chalk took about 5 days to get, the bar and plates came in about 10 days and the rack and bench took a month. Not too bad. The rack is unbelievable and everything they say it is and more. I wish it came standard with band peg holes in case I wanted to add them down the road but the raised side rails allow you to choke bands off of pretty easily. Even with the weight storage racks the front end of the rack should be bolted down. My training partner dumped a 405 bench into the j-hooks and the front end of the rack jumped a bit. Some of my football players I train were doing DE box squats with bands and 225 and the front end was popping a bit when racking the bar. So I will definitely bolt it to my platform this weekend. Other than that the rack is amazing. The pin spacing is real nice making it easy to set up a good position for benching and squatting so you don't have to do 1/4 squats or presses to unrack, the rod and pin spot pins are pretty nice and really absorb the barbell on pin work. This is easily the best rack I've used. My friend is an athletic director at a high school here in GA and just ordered 4 of the collegiate racks so I will be curious to check those out. He and I actually got invited up to Williams Strength in SC where they make the EFS gear to spend about 4 hours watching them manufactor equip and learning a little about their business. It is easily some of the best equipment I've used and worth every penny.

JMO,
Scott

Here's a pic of it in my basement:
