Re: Hey Nerds, Got A Question on SSDs

I will not ever go back to a computer without an SSD. They make a world of difference, and can make an old computer young again. Currently in my home desktop I have a 256GB SSD that has windows and my programs on it. I have a 1TB standard hard disk I keep my data, pictures and videos on. My new work...

Re: IRS Identity Theft problems

I got nailed with that this year, well for 2014 taxes. I filed in the middle of March electronically, and it was rejected because the SSN had already been used. I basically had to: (1) Print the completed Tax return (2) Print an identity theft affidavit (3) Scan my ID (Passport, Social Security card...

Great story. After years of martial arts training, including the last few with Kali, I'd really really hate to get in a knife fight, especially with someone that knows what they are doing.

Re: Thoughts on Handguns?

Anyone by chance try the new Sig 320? When the Sig 250 came out, I thought the concept was cool, change grips and slides to go from sub compact to compact to full size handgun. It is DAO and reviews said the trigger was smooth, but a very long pull. Now they have a Sig 320, their first striker fired...

Re: What's the IGx unadulterated opinion on the taxi vs Uber debate?

How do you people in the US afford cabs? A taxi to the airport in most cities is more expensive than simply renting a car (including insurance) and driving yourself. Business expense. You can rent a car, often cheaper than a cab, but parking it in a major city, like Chicago, overnight, costs more t...

Yeah, it's a serious fuck up. Especially since they have touted "clean diesels" in their marketing.
They will be hammered, and many politicians will get many blowjobs compliments of VW

WPA2 is fine, it's WPA2-Enterprise that is the problem. The former only needs a wifi password, the latter requires a login and password.

Chromebox

I know there was a thread a while back about Chromebooks... My little girl went away to college, and while the wifi in their dorm is super fast, it is also WPA2-Enterprise protected. Basically you have to login to the wifi with both a username and password. This sucks because the smart TV's they too...

I pretty much agree with the original post. Good movie but very cliched. About the only one it missed was having the crying daughter run down to the ring in the last round of the last fight to give him extra inspiration.

Re: Selling land

This seems like it could have so many questions tied to it, you almost have to get a lawyer to sort it out. Who determines the property lines? Did your parents already figure that out ahead of time? Split it North/south, East/West, diagonal, will both plots have road access? Will local zoning allow ...

And Kudos to Disney for letting Pixar make it and not forcing them to do another cars/planes movie so they can sell more merchandise at Christmas.

Droid Turbo

It is only available on Verizon. Awesome phone. Super fantastic battery life, and charges really fast too.
Very smooth operation, 5.2" screen, "wave" to turn it on.

Cons: heavier than your average phone (large battery in it.)

75K?

I'd get a 2015 Mustang GT convertible and something for winter and everyday like a Subaru Forester XT or WRX.

I don't have a pellet smoker, but a smoker and grill with the side fire box. If I had to do it again I'd go Big Green Egg. It really is the best out there.

Re: Fitbit Charge HR

I think their literature states the HR can be off when moving arms a lot, especially in things like kickboxing. I don't believe it was meant to give a super accurate HR like a chest band for an individual workout. I think it was meant as a general HR monitoring throughout the day to get a general le...

If you just want to look at the files, I believe you can download a free Revit viewer from the Autodesk website. Also, if you know any students, they can get certain Autodesk products for free.

My friend broke my toboggan and got a concussion hitting the foot bridge. I'm just glad we didn't have to pull him out of the river.

This is crazy, just one more reason for kids to stay inside and spend all their time on small electronic gadgets.
