Easy, big dog. Nobody's trying to snatch a rib off your plate. I used to get pissed, even insulted, at the stupidity of some of these @Fers. I guess I was offended on behalf of the guys who actually busted their ass in a gym or for a sport.sigifrith007 wrote:I, in fact, have push pressed 200kg. No video but witnesses. Video exists of me push pressing 182.5kg for 3 reps. I could easily train for a month, and match any MFers feat with 40kg. those with the 40kg "achievement" could train a lifetime and not match my 200kg. Get the fuck out of here. I respect anyone, for any difficult feat of strength or endurance. But that is over the top. to equate something special with something rather mundane is, well, not cool.
sig
The current dipshittery exhibited by @Fers is beyond appalling. They are on a completely fucking planet. I metally checked out when some cocksucker tried to downplay Bolton's WR DL by saying he (the @Fer) actually had greater relative strength than Bolton because he was some 145 pound faggot. I no longer hate them for their stupidity but for their arrogance about the whole damn thing.
You bitches just don't appreciate elite fitness.
Re: The couch thread
Dan John ahd a nice pice about strength athletes being able to work up to endurance feats much quicker than endurance athletes to strength feats.sigifrith007 wrote:

So true...

Now look. I've eaten a pice of pie.
When we spin the pie again, the area cut out of the volume of the sphere equals fitness.

Re: The couch thread
A few things:
1. Look at the trap and shoulder development. This is the first place that seriously blows up when you start using due to a high number of receptors in those areas.
2. Next: Pecs and biceps - the development of these are improved and quickly happens when on.
3. Unusual leanness and vascularity.
Now, with the lower dose shit, you don't have the telltale bloating of the face nor acne. And the ones I'm talking about could be natural...with superior genetics, work ethic, dietary discipline and drive, so, maybe I'm wrong.

Re: The couch thread
This is not limited to CF. I remember certain hangers-on to the weightlifting community downplaying Cheryl's bronze medal in '00 because of her bodyweight. A 100% drug free girl who snatches 300lbs and clean and jerks 350lbs and gets an Olympic medal at 16 YEARS OF AGE!!! And your gonna say she aint all that because her bodyweight is a bit high, and her snatch is not high enough in relation???? Looking at a champion marathon runner and saying "yeah, but look at the skinny SOB, bet he couldnt lift 50lbs" would be the same thing.Gin Master wrote:Easy, big dog. There seems to be a general lack of respect for those who really do transcend the normal. Like if someone sticks their head up, its the job of the peanut gallery to pound it back down. People like Cheryl, or Andy Bolton dont need to be pulled down. There should be no apologist for the normal trying to show us that we are in fact just as good as them, because we are not. Andy B. did something that no human has ever done before, just leave it at that!
Anyone who puts themselves out there, on a lifting platform, on a mat, on a track, or whatever, deserves respect. Those who do it at a high level and especially those who accomplish great things deserve a lot of respect.
What must it be like to walk onto the lifting platform to do a snatch at the Olympics, and know that success or failure is going to be defined in just a few seconds by a very precarious lift that will take about 1 second to complete... That years of effort will either pay off or be wasted based on that one effort in that 1 second of time, under pressure that most of us, maybe none of us, can comprehend?
And what right do any of us have, any of us who have never achieved at that level, never been in that situation, never felt that kind of pressure, what right do we really have to try to pull these people back to earth, or to pull ourselves up to their level?
Good Lord this topic gets me riled up.

Steve is one of the good ones. He's been doing this awhile, and he did it before @F got big and started grandstanding, etc. You think they accept IGX sponsorships?protobuilder wrote:He actually has some pretty good ideas, like sponsoring kids to help fight child obesity, healthy 'paleokits' to support his charitable org., etc.The Bastard Son of the Shafman wrote:Steve's Club is fairly unique.

You're right about the general naysayers, but your statement above is what stokes the fires of my @F hate. @Fitters worship the false idol of work capacity, which is nothing more than ginned up cowboy calculus applied to an arbitrarily selected set of fitness parameters.sigifrith007 wrote:Anyone who puts themselves out there, on a lifting platform, on a mat, on a track, or whatever, deserves respect.
Sure, it's a good list (the ten Dynamax principles), but Couch has duped these buttholes into believing that broad-based GPP is the be-all-end-all of physical training. Not only do they disrespect athletic accomplishment at the highest levels, they look down on those who aspire to greatness in a specific sport. It's fucked. Now I'm pissed off again.

Wait. @fitters on teh juice? @fitters, especially former poster boy Matt Gagliardi, lie about their WAD times? Nicole and Eva in a love tryst? Couch slammed the host of AMW? All shocking.

Firstly, I wonder what the grocery store will think of a local business parading its clients through their isles for a fee. If I managed a grocery store I sure as hell wouldn't allow that.T200 wrote:Grocery Shopping Tours

Secondly, Jeremey Barnett, haha, what a douche. He fucking named his affiliate "CrossFit Thoroughbreds." The only thing more elitist I could think of than that would be "CrossFit Aryan Race." He had some people against him on the message boards too:

There in lies the problem. It's never the studs running their heads it's the fucking douche nuggets who've never competed in anything in their life. Their mentor Couch has never competed in anything so they see no need to compete in a real event to test their mettle.sigifrith007 wrote: . . . The best way to truly learn to respect an athlete to attempt their sport. Everyone talks shit about endurance athletes but to be competitive on even the local level is fucking hard. And everyone is cool.
Of course that argument applies to strongman, powerlifting, combat sports, and pretty much any sport.
People who don't compete are usually the most vocal critics with the least amount of actual viable information.

Nah.
I talk loads of shit about this stuff, yet I've competed in athletic events consistently over my entire life. From the Crim 10 miler in Flint, to literally hundreds of rugby games and wrestling matches, to impromptu dick measuring stunts...
The only shit I won't attempt to do when someone calls me out on it is shit that has a high probability of causing permanent injury, shit with spiders, and shit jumping off high places into water.
