OMG, an ex-collegiate-level
heptathlete is good at @F? Someone who demonstrates speed, power, coordination, blah, blah, in real contested sports? No...it's too much like Josh Everett (college football and T&F hurdles):

World's most un-settling lawyers wrote:The CrossFit Risk Retention Group has met all of its requirements for capitalization. We are now finishing the process for approval with the insurance departments and regulators in all 50 states. We expect to begin writing our own Errors and Omissions policy, the one for which the RRG was formed, for members within the next 30 days. A requirement for membership remains purchase of stock in the company via initial capital contribution - $200 for trainers and $1000 for affiliates. Premiums will be determined based upon the individual trainer's or affiliate's risk - if you train more people more often, you have relatively more risk and premiums will reflect this. The converse is also true.
The RRG staff currently in place will be working in the upcoming months to ensure that all of the necessary administrative tasks are completed to ensure the smooth and efficient functioning as we move forward. Not long after, there will be an announcement for elections and a meeting of membership/representatives to begin to chart the course for our Risk Retention Group.
It is a reflection on, and credit to, this community that this company has been formed. Now begins the work of protecting affiliates and trainers in their business of training others in the CrossFit principles and methodology. Congratulations.

Affiliates and trainers who don’t participate risk being singled out and separated from the herd by opportunists. They will be devoured in the courtroom, stuck between an indifferent insurance company and omissions and errors in their insurance policy. When the time comes, they will be as valuable to the CF-RRG as the affiliates who do support it. By serving as sacrificial lambs, they will demonstrate the importance of being inside the castle wall.
So, the RRG got its half mil, but if any noobs want in, they still have to pay the capital contribution, even though that's already been established. Those who "donated" will not be getting their money back. This I find humorous and telling, as the RRG is up to ~$522K, ~13K of which were donations. IMO, that overage in donations should all be given back, but that's just me.
It's not a straight fee, either. The more trainees, the higher the insurance rate. Very different from, say, ANY OTHER PERSONAL TRAINING INSURANCE OUT THERE.
I love that they're writing their own E&O to supposedly cover the E&Os that the other typical training insurance doesn't cover. I wonder how many open back doors they'll leave themselves in there. Drawing all this stuff up in private before any of the people who paid in are allowed to get on the board and vote seems interesting as well.
The future shitstorm on the affiliate board will be entertaining, someone please post if you check on it...
