And a new shitting thread...
Zone and poop

Anyone notice after switching to zone that most poops are ghost poops? I am wondering what this says about the nutritional aspects of zone.
And a faggot...
weighing raw meat while it's frozen..

does it weigh any differently if it's frozen or thawed? I have these frozen thighs that don't need to be thawed before cooking and I was wondering if I could just weigh them frozen before I cooked them.

I could weigh it after it's cooked and then specify that it's "cooked weight" but the scale gets a bit messier that way.

Hi All

I am new to the Cross fit site but have been doing boot camp (basically it's cross fit). I have a question. I cannot do any thing that is jarring such as running, jumping rope ect. I was in a car accident and have two blown discs in my neck.

What would you recommend I do instead of the running or jumping rope.

Thanks you in advance to all who can help me
Pull-ups (kipping, the CrossFit standard) ought to help clear that up. Do 100 in your warm-up every day, unless the WOD includes pull-ups, in which case you can do 100 minus the number in the WOD.

Tut tut, POD. Don't you remember the injured calf that resulted from kipping pullups??

If he checked the Douchefit FAQ under "which weighs more, a pound of lead, or a pound of feathers" he would know the answer.

Somebody get this jackass a bucket of steam and a clue.

OMG, an ex-collegiate-level heptathlete is good at @F? Someone who demonstrates speed, power, coordination, blah, blah, in real contested sports? No...it's too much like Josh Everett (college football and T&F hurdles):

Next, RRG funnies:
World's most un-settling lawyers wrote:The CrossFit Risk Retention Group has met all of its requirements for capitalization. We are now finishing the process for approval with the insurance departments and regulators in all 50 states. We expect to begin writing our own Errors and Omissions policy, the one for which the RRG was formed, for members within the next 30 days. A requirement for membership remains purchase of stock in the company via initial capital contribution - $200 for trainers and $1000 for affiliates. Premiums will be determined based upon the individual trainer's or affiliate's risk - if you train more people more often, you have relatively more risk and premiums will reflect this. The converse is also true.

The RRG staff currently in place will be working in the upcoming months to ensure that all of the necessary administrative tasks are completed to ensure the smooth and efficient functioning as we move forward. Not long after, there will be an announcement for elections and a meeting of membership/representatives to begin to chart the course for our Risk Retention Group.

It is a reflection on, and credit to, this community that this company has been formed. Now begins the work of protecting affiliates and trainers in their business of training others in the CrossFit principles and methodology. Congratulations.

The Staff of the CF RRG
[...]
Affiliates and trainers who don’t participate risk being singled out and separated from the herd by opportunists. They will be devoured in the courtroom, stuck between an indifferent insurance company and omissions and errors in their insurance policy. When the time comes, they will be as valuable to the CF-RRG as the affiliates who do support it. By serving as sacrificial lambs, they will demonstrate the importance of being inside the castle wall.
So, the RRG got its half mil, but if any noobs want in, they still have to pay the capital contribution, even though that's already been established. Those who "donated" will not be getting their money back. This I find humorous and telling, as the RRG is up to ~$522K, ~13K of which were donations. IMO, that overage in donations should all be given back, but that's just me.

It's not a straight fee, either. The more trainees, the higher the insurance rate. Very different from, say, ANY OTHER PERSONAL TRAINING INSURANCE OUT THERE.

I love that they're writing their own E&O to supposedly cover the E&Os that the other typical training insurance doesn't cover. I wonder how many open back doors they'll leave themselves in there. Drawing all this stuff up in private before any of the people who paid in are allowed to get on the board and vote seems interesting as well.

The future shitstorm on the affiliate board will be entertaining, someone please post if you check on it...

Wow, that interview was so lame. Poor girl, having to deal with the douche with a camera.

Also, it was funny how he made sure the sign that said "LUBE" was in view the entire time. That, combined with his intro blather and ending suck-up tell the viewers exactly what he's thinking.

Once again, poor girl.

Goddamn they're stupid.

They've stated publicly over and over that if you buy into the RRG, you're safe. You're behind the castle walls. If you don't, you're screwed. So what happens when some shitbag affiliate pays into the RRG, gets sued, but the RRG refuses to defend him??

THAT'S RIGHT! He gets to sue Cultfit HQ and the RRG for failing to honor its promise. He may lose, but that sucks $$$ out of the RRG coffers as well to the tune of several hundred thousand dollars at least, not to mention if he pushes hard enough, he could probably get a nice settlement. And that doesn't have anything to do with rhabdo, modal domains, mohawks, etc.

I guess you COULD injure your calf from kipping pullups, considering there can be a high amount of knee flexion during execution, and the gastrocnemius (calf muscle) connects from the ankle to the lower end of the femur in you upper leg (as opposed to the soleus which never crosses the knee joint), which theoretically could mean that one could strain their calf muscle when the leg is in flexion.

That, or I am completely full of shit and am thinking about this all wrong.

The whole sports performance industry has been onto that one for years. If it's elite enough for 8 year old soccer players it's elite enough for @fit IMO.

I mist have glossed over this earlier. Herd opportunists? Really? The best plaintiffs attorneys are poring over affiliate maps right now. "This one has RRG. Damn! This one does, too. Uh oh...this one has no RRG. We're going to bring the fires of Hades against this poor bastard. Buahahahahahah." Fuckers.

That's actually pretty good for a non-gymnast woman (even a dudish one like that). If she were to rotate her hands properly she'd probably get the extra strength she needs to flatten out the arch in her back and make it a solid hold. Too bad half the fuckers who see it won't even know what it is.

Not in line with the theme of the day, but this can't go unmentioned:
http://www.crossfit.com/cf-affiliates/c ... quat_b.jpg

Makes even the late Michael Jackson seem comparatively intelligent.

The bloody-hand-and-vomit-stream blog post also got a good number of comments:
http://www.crossfit.com/cf-affiliates/2 ... 90624.html

It's good to see that there are several people who strongly discourage touting such incidences - some affiliate owners, even.

You're doing it again, POD. This is not the @F forums; we don't try to jump on every little issue we think is wrong in an effort to look smart.

Second, she was a gymnast, a pretty good one IIRC. Suffice it to say she's playing with a different center of gravity and body mass than she had in her comp days.

Andro-Friday jokes aside, she seems like a nice girl (from interviews) and is a remarkable physical specimen.
Gillian is an accomplished athlete who has extensive training in gymnastics, track and field, physical fitness and bodybuilding that extends over the past 25 years. Her physical accomplishments include holding the world record for push-ups and and being the United States Marine Corps National Physical Fitness Champion in 1995.

Additionally, she has been a personal trainer for 13 years and holds multiple certifications including CrossFit Levels 1,2 and Gymnastics. POOD, never disparage Michael Jackson by putting him in the same class as AssFitters again. That is an offense that should be punishable by banishment.
