You reckon military service is the solution?Batboy2/75 wrote:Bob Wildes wrote:They aren't bullet proof either.Batboy2/75 wrote:The West is full of pussies. Their cowardice is writing checks the rest of us are going to have to cash.
The chattering class doesn't volunteer for military service.

There are pros and cons. If they don't join, you get a better military service. I find that hard to believe, given the cartoons of theirs that I have seen. They flung their poo without prejudice.Wild Bill wrote:Interesting, in 2008 man was fired from that magazine due to antisemit caricature.

You have more direct experience than I do, but when I was there, even pre-9/11 the typical French were absolutely openly hostile to Arabs. Laws that forbid speech offensive to the religious do not apply to Islam, and they banned headscarves in public.tough old man wrote:France has catered so much in the past to these fucking cockroaches and now they have an infestation. Yes, it's true. And it's happening in Sweden too.T>1200 wrote:Is it true they've ceded control of certain neighborhoods to them in terms of policing and law? Western guilt about assimilation leads to lack of common principles and agreements on the basic values that define a society. That creates cockroaches that must be stomped.

As an ex-NYC cop who has lived in MO, NC, TX & MN in the last 20 years, I have always been 'mildly' against modern militarization of the police, thinking the cries about it were mostly over reaction. Then, when I went back home in summer of 2014 and saw cops side by side with National Guardsman, all armed with rifles, throughout Penn Station as a matter of routine, I was like WTF is this? Same for Bomb Squad and ESU parked outside of the Today Show, which I understand is routine these days. Slippery slope.Gary John wrote: Trading liberty for security is a poor choice.
