I totally get what you mean by credentialism and that's a good way to explain it to most ppl. But it's not really what's going on if one assumes credentials equals a degree or license. That isn't enough for Stanford and other Ivy League MDs to oppose theories set forth by ppl with lesser credentials. There's a primal non-intellectual sense of hierarchy in operation which I don't fully understand. But a Fauci or Feigl Ding or a Bourla "feels" to them like a higher social status person. Whereas a Kulldorf or Yeadon etc etc does not.
The other weird thing is that these ppl they respect can lose the mandate of heaven quickly.
I am tempted to say it is a hive mind or tribal consciousness. In that, they may be scanning other dead spot ppl to see how they react to any given expert... But the mechanism is not apparent to me. There is a top down element but prob a bottom up one too. Idk maybe the powers that be can see if some midwit has the mandate of heaven or maybe has the mandate and they trot them out to see... very similar to pop music sensations...

By the way, this is starting at the sun level if stupid. If you will(it can, with your limited brain capacity) recall, we have endured two waves of COVID since the left no longer needed to artificially Pearl clutch about the pandemic. Both of those waves were of course fueled by stupid unvaccinated people. There will be another wave or five, and stupid people will continue to lead the charge over the cliff, invited by people such as yourself who were smart enough to get vaccinated.
