It may not be fair to call the spectators douches. They might be there for the same reason I go to the zoo - idle curiosity and/or enjoying watching exotic life forms do peculiar and unusual things.

Cutting back on the skimpy attire is a bad business decision. Hard-bodied ladies who are Zoned, Toned, and Oxandraloned are what Crossfit is all about.

That exposure leads to more marketing exposure than money can buy, but making the cut for Androgen Friday is a great honor and takes hard work, self sacrifice, and no small amount of constructive exhibitionism.

I fell over numerous times with the 45# bar landing dangerously near my head each time, on those 1-legged OHS's. I only drew blood three times.

I only needed 3 band-aids. This gives a new meaning to SURVIVING THROUGH a workout!

Watered Down Standards in Cultfit Land!! OH NOES! I thought WOD times were accurate data points that the Swedes were using to compile a reverse osmosis double blind superstudy that would prove once and for all the TRUE efficacy of Cultfit??? what to do what to do....

I feel like its my duty to stand up for the gal in the video and her burpees/judge. Look folks, burpees have different standards in different places and i'm sure some judges are better/worse then others, but come ON! Jesus! She went from a standing postion to a prone postion back to a standing postion. She moved here body a complete range of motion. Ok maybe the jump wasn't 56756453 inches tall but look how fast she went and at least she did in fact jump.

I won't go over all of the standards because I didn't hear all of them, but our CF Kids guys talked about the burpee standard. You simply needed to stand straight up with your hands above your shoulders. Everyone who jumped and clapped may very well have exceeded the standard and done more work than was required. If my recollection or the CF Kids understanding of the standards is incorrect, I am sure that Bill or Caity or Doug will correct me, but this is what our guys understood.

You may criticize the standard, and you may feel that judging was inconsistent, but with regard to this particular event at this time in this venue, this competitor met the required standard. Now that you know, feel free to comment on the standard. Commenting critically on this particular judge or this particular athlete as above, now that you know, wouldn't seem to apply.

And was just as quickly put back in his place.

Your understanding of the standards is incorrect. Athletes were required to achieve a vertical body position, feet off the ground, and ears clearly visible in front of the upper arms at the top of the movement. At the bottom of the movement, the vest/chest was to be in contact with the ground. These were clearly stated in an e-mail from Doug that was sent to all athletes. Some judges upheld the standards, though many did not. A head judge actually walked by while I was performing this event and reminded my judge to make sure that I was clearly leaving the ground.

So, with regard to this particular event at this time at this particular venue, no, many of these burpees did not meet the standard. Now that you know what the standards were, I am curious to know what your thoughts are regarding the standard and this particular judge.
