One of the downsides of the Internet is that it allows like-minded people to form communities, and sometimes those communities are stupid.

I thought you were thinking of Andrew Wilson who did the same thing. And Joey Powell because he was doing some uber secret elite modal broad training behind enemy lines.

What, an @fitter almost died doing a silly, dangerous "workout"? Let me defend that position:

Just some 2 cents since I was running along with them on the “grass”
1. It was a fun competition and a bit creative since it was the “finals” at the end of the weekend. It burnt the legs out of the competitors before they started the next wods. Maybe not the most functional of fitness but designed by Blair Morrison to burn the body out first.
2. Crossfit is about the unexpected, so strategizing this was pretty hard. The outside person got the most slack on one of the banks of the second to last turn but they did not know this until most competitors went. The turns were not all equal nor could you tell until you got out there. At the end, she had the hardest section to pull to keep up after being totally exhausted. Also, she had the longest route around. Other teams were not pulling as fast and did not have this problem. Theses guys were on record setting pace at 1:15 on last turn. Fastest time was 1:48. They would have killed it.
3. The accident happend in a split second and nobody knew what happend until everyone turned around because they had the ropes staggered. We saw her kneeling by the car, so we didnt know if she just stopped or fell into the car. The entire incident happened in a split second. She looked ok until we saw the video of how hard she actually hit and very glad she didnt get hurt seriously.
My thoughts were, they should have had the driver stop or honk horn if hes going to stop if he sees any danger. All teams ran into the same slack problem but they also didnt have 3 GAMES athletes on their team either. So maybe they should have went guy girl, guy girl

Re: The couch thread
lulz
The picture of the guy at the end smiling was actually a picture of him before the event started when he put the camera on the car. Not after. The douchebag is the one who put the pictures out of order. And the one passing judgement when they don’t even know what happened.

WTF? Golf courses are designed. Concert halls are designed. The Michael Kors fall collection is designed (Shaf told me). This asshole didn't design anything. No fewer than ten Mexicans per big city per weekend do the same thing when their cars crap out.1. It was a fun competition and a bit creative since it was the “finals” at the end of the weekend. He makes a good point here. How could anyone guess that the person in the outside lane--the person having to run the farthest--would end up with slack in the line, especially if she was a weaker runner? Math and common sense are hard.2. Crossfit is about the unexpected, so strategizing this was pretty hard. Surely, when they did a walk-through weeks before the competition they found out .... oh, wait.Gin Master wrote:He makes a good point here. Pro Anox is just another junk supplement trying to target the Crossfit market. The marketing and website assumes your stupid or senile. Looks like it might want to go the MLM route as well.

The Khalipa fella at the end looked more miffed that the others stopped than that the AZN almost got ran over.

That was my favorite particularly crazy thought. Two big heavily muscled heroic looking dudes, and when some chick gets HIT BY A CAR do they rush to her aid? Do they help her?
No, they just stand there.
I just can't get over that. They must have been pretty tired to not be able to rush over and help.

On a lighter note, Drywall said to me "Who would have thought that a porn star talking about guzzling semen in a Reebok CrossFit hat would have been the back page story this week?"
