I know Kelly Starrett himself is supposed to be a very good coach,

Why?

People keep saying this but I haven't seen anything to indicate it's actually the case.

So seriously, why is he good?

Any MAN named "Kelly" is a tool, plain and simple.

"Kelly Starrett" sounds like a chick pr0nstar name.

Taking out-of-shape oafs and giving them a bit of conditioning isn't an amazing accomplishment. Taking elite guys and making them even more elite is. This Starrett character has never done that.

Forgot to respond to this. Since he is a physical therapist, he at least has some knowledge about how to not screw over his clients, or at least how to help fix them. Additionally, his blog has some half-decent stuff, I've heard that he's one of the smarter affiliates that implements a "strength-biased" system, and while it's not much, his gym does the S&C for a winning women's Junior Nationals crew time. That much better than most affiliates. It's not his fault his parents gave him a fag name either - just bad luck for him.

What do all of those people have in common. They were elite way before crossfit!

I also love that you bring up BJ Penn and Chucky Liddel of MMA fame. What do they have both have in common? Both of their fighting careers tanked once they hooked up with Crossfit.

BTW- I hear that the Pit has dumped crossfit for Ross Enemait.

Went to the gym this a.m. and was doing a 10K on a C2 when towards the end a guy came in wearing a crossfit shirt and sat down on the other C2, did maybe 5 min of rowing. I went to start a 2K test and he got up and left, I assumed downstairs to lift. As I was heading downstairs to leave, I noticed he was on an elliptical and the back of the shirt said "forging elite fitness". Indeed.
