Whoever commented on that video in the comments section really hit the nail on the head. This chick has no business oly-lifting.WildGorillaMan wrote:

Is it just me or were most of the examples of the 10 physical skills pretty sad? Was that front squat supposed to show us flexibility?Kraj wrote:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WjdQZxTIj1U&NR=1
The comments in this one are pretty harsh.

You get a pass on the hate pause. Couch could be sitting on my desk drinking a bottle of Old Spice and I'd still be in a good mood watching that video. I support bouncing deadlifts for chicks with big racks. However, all jump rope shots should zoom straight to the chest. And no, baby. Leave the socks on.CultBuster wrote:

That last video is horrible. The owner of @F Fire seems like a nice girl and lost a hell of a lot of weight doing it, but damn, those were some of the shittiest movement demos I've ever seen. The lady loping down the highway represents speed? Sign me up!

Re: The couch thread
this thread has accomplished a number of positive things. one of those them is the automatic sproing i've developed whenever i see a chick in deadlift/soccer/baseball socks.

I find grown women dressed up in schoolgirl outfits and showing their underwear extremely distasteful and demeaning to all womankind.

That last video I could only watch for a minute. Somehow I just thought it was only going to get worse at each and every minute afterward so I thought I better stop before I peed my pants from laughing.

I'm unconcerned with her lifting or rope jumping. Her only techniques that I care to see demonstrated with virtuosity aren't on this video.

You're gonna upset half the niggas posting on this thread by disparaging their mancrush @Fit Greyskull. Please say something about how awesome they do on such hard to grasp concepts as linear progression and choosing the right Affliction shirt to go with one's ink.The Bastard Son of the Shafman wrote:The ammonia caps all over XF Grayskull = faggotry.

Re: The couch thread
So I hurt my shoulder doing push press but I will blame the bench?Hurt my shoulder doing the push press Tuesday. Doctors don't know much about sports medicine - their usual advice is either to quit lifting or undergo surgery - so I was hoping for some advice from you guys. I developed acute shoulder pain doing heavy bench press about 6 months ago. Over the course of months, with some rotator cuff exercises, and switching to Crossfit, it got better. During everyday use, my shoulder was perfect. It felt great during push ups - the only thing that really hurt it was dips. I did a lot of dips on Sunday as part of "Ryan", but my shoulder felt OK on Tuesday. Push presses were going OK at light weight, but when I went to clean a heavier weight, my shoulder suddenly got a hot sensation in it, and I had to bail out. Today, I have shoulder impingement. Never had that before. Any advice on working through crossfit with a rotator cuff injury?
I have a few observations and have learned a few things. Flat bench press is more dangerous for rotator cuff injury than push ups even though they seem nearly identical. This is because the bench limits the normal mobility of the scapulae, putting rotator cuff muscles into biomechanical disadvantage. It seems to me that dips and heavy cleans can exacerbate rotator cuff injuries, but maybe my form is at fault.

Doctors really don't know much about sports medicine, this is why most pro sports teams and athletes hire Kelly Starrett and other @fit coaches to take care of their million dollar athletes.
Dips hurt, so I will do allot of them because it is on the main page wad
Any advive on doing @fit with rotator injury? Kipping pull ups and sdhp for starters and high volume o-lifts with shitty form will help. These fucking retards kill me.
So this guy in the grey shorts...is this a bottom party? WTF

Whither the RRG? This is the same message that has been up since mid-June. Apparently they change the "posted on" date every few days.

We have reached the initial goal!
August 17, 2009
The CrossFit Risk Retention Group has met all of its requirements for capitalization. We are now finishing the process for approval with the insurance departments and regulators in all 50 states. We expect to begin writing our own Errors and Omissions policy, the one for which the RRG was formed, for members within the next 30 days. A requirement for membership remains purchase of stock in the company via initial capital contribution - $200 for trainers and $1000 for affiliates. Premiums will be determined based upon the individual trainer's or affiliate's risk - if you train more people more often, you have relatively more risk and premiums will reflect this. The converse is also true.
The RRG staff currently in place will be working in the upcoming months to ensure that all of the necessary administrative tasks are completed to ensure the smooth and efficient functioning as we move forward. Not long after, there will be an announcement for elections and a meeting of membership/representatives to begin to chart the course for our Risk Retention Group.
It is a reflection on, and credit to, this community that this company has been formed. Now begins the work of protecting affiliates and trainers in their business of training others in the CrossFit principles and methodology. Congratulations.
The Staff of the CF RRG

Am I the only one to have noticed that psycho video on the xfit site? Apparently x-fit is the ideal practice to cure depressives, addictives, bread eaters, and those with other mental disorders. Dr Glassman, inventor of the low carb diet and the push up, will be offering his regimen for exercise bulemics as a mental-health panacea.

Yeah, I mean seriously. Why would that dude NOT be inked? The only real question is if there is a tramp stamp or not.WildGorillaMan wrote: Oh, he's inked. He just has his shirt on because he's not training at the moment.

TGIAndroF slightly early...welcome our old friend Miss Umbilical Hernia! She finds bleeding from exercise functional and exciting, her turn-offs include surgery as it is "unnatural" to her and it isn't mentioned in @F's new world-changing definition of health...

That's quite a hat trick, all in one picture.

A man on his way to bigger and better things...
I've been crossfitting for about 3 weeks and scaling everything. The other day I did the pull-up and rope climb WOD. I think the rope climb put more stress on my right shoulder because it started hurting afterwards when I would raise my arm. I iced and everything and it felt ok. The next day I kept it light, but I was stupid and practiced kipping. By the end both shoulders hurt.
I iced and took off for two days, then did a lighter workout (pushups, pull-ups - not kipping, sit-ups, squats). The workout didn't aggravate the shoulders, but they weren't getting much better.
Specifically, it hurts when I raise either arm at around a 70 degree angle. The WEIRD thing is that my shoulders have started cracking - like cracking your knuckles - and if I raise my arm up, I'll hit pain and then wiggle my arm, it cracks, and the pain goes away. Sometimes the shoulder doesn't crack and it just hurts to raise the arm. The right shoulder is worse than the left shoulder.

@Fitter posting on the UG:
I don't recommend learning KB
lifting on your own. I go to a
Crossfit gym and it is very scary
seeing people do the lifts
before they get proper instruction.
Some people pick up the bells
and just starting swinging or
pressing. They are headed for
trouble. With that said. Most
guys use the 24 KG or up
bell and women use the 16 KG
bell.
