It's amazing to me that people tolerate this kind of treatment, but then not being in the cult, makes understanding difficult. Yea I know, "blah blah blah shitting on cooches living room rug", whatever..."free speech is not free when your in my house"...It is un-fucking-American to participate in the @ssfit forum...why the hell do they think their heroes perished, to be imortalized in a fucking WOD... maybe?

Assuming I am the contrary opinion: I am aware that he is a knowledgeable dude. My issue is with him stating that paleo is the be-all-end-all, organic agriculture is something great and that NO ONE should eat fucking wheat. If he didn't often speak in false absolutes it would be less problematic. He is very guru-tastic.
I got involved in several back-and-forths with Wolf over at the CF boards and always had a hard time deciding how to understand him. At times he seems incredibly lucid, both intelligent and well-balanced, with a good understanding of his stuff and no particular madness within. But at other times (usually on topics like you mention) he seemed to pretty much have nothing but disdain for contrary viewpoints. Maybe he's just the "enough's enough" type and had enough of bickering a while back.

If you are having a problem with a franchisor or business opportunity seller, consider talking with a private attorney about bringing a lawsuit, or taking other action that may help resolve the problem.
We encourage you to file your complaint with the FTC because consumer complaints help us identify companies and practices that affect a broad segment of the public, and are useful for law enforcement purposes.
We also accept complaints in writing, but please be aware that postal mail to federal agencies is subject to delays for security reasons. Please describe your problem or concern writing. Tell us what you think was misleading or deceptive in the company's promotional materials, disclosure document or offering circular. If you want your letter kept confidential, please print the words, "Privileged and Confidential," on the top of each page. Include your name, address, and a daytime telephone number where we can reach you. It will help if you can send us copies of any written claims in promotional materials or elsewhere that you believe are false. Send copies, not originals, of any documents you think we should have.
Please address your complaint to:
Consumer Response Center
Federal Trade Commission - Rm. 130
600 Pennsylvania Ave., NW
Washington, D.C. 20580.
Anyone with some spare time, cuz I gotz to get back to work.

So @fit is having the fall out like Sr. RKC's leaving in droves? Oh well.
Robb's always been super nice to me. I don't agree 100% with anyone, but that's what makes it fun.
Paleo works better if you consume Cro Magnon or Neanderthal flesh BTW.

A few points on legal issues here. This is for educational purposes and not for legal advice.
A franchise tax is a charge for any business doing business in a state. It has nothing to do with franchises.
The FTC includes a degree of control or assistance as one of the elements of its definition of a franchise (along with a mark and a fee), but it is a fuzzy test. If CrossFit is relying on not meeting that element, it is taking a significant risk. The consequence would be an FTC investigation along with administrative penalties. The federal act gives no private causes of action.
Many states have franchise laws, and for the most part their definitions are different from the FTC's. They generally requre a mark and a fee, as does the FTC definition, but the third leg is generally a "community of interest" between the franchisor and the franchisee, or the franchisor must provide the franchisee a "marketing plan." If CrossFit is relying on not meeting any state's franchise law, it again is taking a significant risk. State franchise laws generally do provide a private cause of action.
Another interesting area of inquiry is whether CrossFit is a "business opportunity" within the meaning of business opportunity statutes.
On a related legal tack, the way CrossFit marketed the RRG was unbelievable. I don't know what CrossFit was actually selling, and I'm not sure CrossFit has informed its affiliates yet of what they bought, but any business that sells interests in a company that way is taking significant risks.
If a group of affiliates got together to get their money back, my hunch is they'd have very powerful arguments for doing so. As a practical matter, though, there may not be enough money involved for any one affiliate to press the matter. It would make sense only if they formed some sort of franchisee association to pursue it collectively.
It has always struck me as a bit hypocritical that the accepted @fit political ideology is Libertarianism, with almost all rest day posts centered around deregulation of one thing or another or how global warming is a figment of Al Gore's imagination. Yet, let one lemming in the bunch say, "I'm not jumping," and the entire @fit Reich will jump up and declare him/her a heretic and have him/her excommunicated post haste.
These guys make the Nazi propaganda machine look like rank, newb, intraweb "zine" publishers. Oh wait, that's how they started.

daniel,
no need to worry robb is just done with hq, not providing really fucking good information.
pw, I support and back up everything robb stated. It was totally un professional by castro and as such I asked him to leave so there wouldn’t be any further disruption.
I’m not sure what I will do personally. The summit will continue to provide the community with really fucking good info. Count on that.
I never thought I could hate and disrespect anyone more than pudding until castro! I hate that fucker and rob abd dutch are not going to go lightly. Thiel is an eager beaver but he is training in Austin. he has like 10k s/f that he gets busy in. Thos are money making machines that don't need this bullshit. Add in that Welbourne is Rob'd biz partner and it looks good. They are all still counting thier loot from the summit. I would be on conferance call with Rip. Rip, OPT, Wolf, Everett, Lowry...would not take much to push Burgener with them.

Actually, that's exactly how Objectivism operates: you're only a freethinking rugged individual if you toe Ayn Rand's line to the letter.
Castro's lucky he didn't instigate a physical altercation with Everett.
220# of purple belt BJJ + kickboxing and probably close to a 300kg OL total completely trumps 170lbs of ex-SEAL who probably hasn't worked out in years, at least until he pulled his knife or gun.
On the other hand, the video of that would have been FUCKING AWESOME.
I can imagine this will only make Castro's impotence worse. Small man and small dick syndrome.
I mean, completely losing your fucking shit over an exercise program in front of people whom are your clients and customers. And this dipshit was a fucking elite soldier? Though sources have indicated to me that Castro's standing amonst SEALs is similar to Castro's standing amongst IGxers.

Bide your time. At this rate it may yet come to that.
When the end finally does come, and the @fit Glitterati have all locked themselves away in their bunker, falling on their swords before the class action lawyers can collect on judgements found against them, what will we all have to talk about after that?

TittiesNYC will still be online somewhere, taking naked, low light shots of herself and posting them.

I didn't realize Everett was into martial arts. I was figuring Castro would've taken him being an ex-SEAL and all. Now it's unfortunate Greg didn't curb stomp him, American History X-style.

Lucky for us he didn't. The movement can't afford to lose Casstro. He's irreplaceable.
Getting that wrapped up over something like this shows a serious inferiority complex, which is something Casstro surely learned from Couch, who's been overcompensating since at least 1983 or whenever fate spilled him from his Rings and into the hooch.
