Okay, girls. YOU are my focus group. Glenn Pendlay is letting me develop a women's clothing line for him. Yeah, I know, it's ridiculous. Anyway, I have a million ideas, but I wanted to get your opinions as to what you would actually buy. If you love me and want to help me, please respond. If not, I will still love you.
I think I am starting with t-shirts and knee socks. Shorts are a pain in the ass. I don't buy shorts online. I like my lululemon shorts and my sequined shorts, haha. I don't think we are going to make Pendlay sequined shorts, though :).
So, for shirts, what is most appealing to you? I would like to make a burnout tee like:
http://www.alternativeapparel.com/Shop/ ... Y&Color=BK because I'd actually WEAR that outside of the gym. My other choice would be something more simple like the American Apparel Track Tee
http://store.americanapparel.net/tr301.html because everyone seems to like how that fits for a more typical "gym" shirt, and it also looks good as a regular shirt.
Then, would you rather it just have a Pendlay logo on it or do you want some badass type saying?
Finally, colors. I like the Alternative Apparel violet, cobalt and black in the burnout tee. Or in the Track Tee the orchid or evergreen. Or would you rather have BORING GRAY?
Anything else? I LOOOOOOOVE YOU.

YESSS!!! Yay! I love this. So, I would add two things that female crossfitters wear ALL the time. Tank tops (for those of us who aren't that comfortable in just sports bras). The bella long is a popular one- I have a bunch from different crossfit boxes and I LOVE them. And, of course, sports bras since we often work out in just that. You know Pendalay will love the idea of having his name stamped on thousands of women's chests.
As for your ideas- I love burnout tees so I'm definitely in favor of them and the AA tees fit awesome. :-)

burnout colors that are bad ass: violet, cobalt, black, and kelly green is pretty baller too. but i am partial to the track tees. i have a one from CF durham in the orchid. its fucking cool. and what the fuck is the point of you developing a womens line if there isnt something inappropriate, offensive, or at least bad ass in addition to the pendlay logo? oh.. and no boring gray. ps- tell me how delicious the peanut butter was. i miss it.

Okay, yes, yes, I meant to talk about tank tops. And, I had originally mentioned sports bras to Glenn, BUT, the ones that tend to be cheap enough to print are not good for women with boobs bigger than a B or small C. So, I gotta research that. Like, look at the BlingFit bras I just ordered. They are the cheap stretchy Champion ones from Target. No support.
I only had one tablespoon of Jif left, but I put it in the whey protein shake (chocolate with no added sugar) and a banana, and it was seriously awesome.

Love that you are doing this. And I ultra love all of the above ideas especially the burn-out shirts. Big huge fan of socks myself so I think that's great. I say go for something catchy and attention grabbing. After all, that's what we are, right?!?

This is great!! You definitely need to design a line of clothing before you start your own talk show. ;)
I will definitely buy socks and shirts (in that order)!! brighter the better and def with badass writing/graphic (I LOVE Glenn, but PENDLAY is just not cool enough to stand on its own on a shirt....) weightlifting already has a line of boring clothes, and i'm excited to finally own something cute and weightlifting related!

Yay. Okay, so now I'ma think of some good slogans that aren't totally overused and/or CrossFit cheesy. Then, you can decide what sucks :).
Mie Yoshinaga October 27 at 9:38pm Reply• Report
Is this going to be weightlifting-themed apparel targeted towards CFers? I think CFers buy more shirts than weightlifters....lol
Tamara Cohen October 27 at 9:42pm Reply• Report
Yes. Totally for CFers. Glenn is banking on my popularity in the CrossFit world. Obviously. Since no one in the weightlifting world knows that I exist.
Mie Yoshinaga October 27 at 9:48pm Reply• Report
Sweet. This is totally going to work then :)
we will await the list of slogans.

I like the burnout shirts, but i love the AA shirts. I also love socks. Are you thinking different patterns for socks or an interesting logo of some sort? I can't wait to see 'tamara-isms' on t-shirts. fucking awesome. i wonder if this has sesame street potential :)
Tamara Cohen October 28 at 8:00am Reply• Report
I don't know what our options with the socks are yet. Glenn sure as hell doesn't know, but I think he has a guy who knows a guy who knows a guy, haha. I'd be okay with socks with stripes that say Pendlay on them in the colors that match the shirts.

Okay, I really haven't spent time slogans yet, but a few (possibly stupid) ideas:
1. Stop Sucking at Life - Pendlay Barbell
2. Be Badass - Pendlay Barbell
3. Real Girls Lift Heavy - Pendlay Barbell
4. Strong Bitch - Pendlay Barbell
Ashley Thompson Denton October 28 at 12:41pm
I really like #1 and #3. :)

1-3-4...not a huge fan of bad ass. I like 4 because I would wear it. Not sure its overly 'marketable' though. you run the risk of offending people adverse to swearing.

Yeah, I think the words "badass" and "epic" are completely overused on CrossFit. If I see one more "badass epic" post from Patrick Barber I'm going to pull out all of my toenails... orrrrrrrrr maybe just de-friend him.

Yeah I am not a fan of bitch because of the profanity/offensive reasons. I don't think badass is as offensive but I do agree it is overused. The other two were my faves from that list.

Okay, the other thing I have to come up with is a name for the entire line. I don't think that the Tamara Cohen or TC line is gonna do the trick. Much too boring. Ideas? Something with glitter? Or world domination? Haha.
Ashley Thompson Denton October 28 at 8:32pm
What about something like
PDC
-------
Pull
Drop
Catch
Lame I know. First thing that came to mind though.

Glitter>World
(that's a 'greater than' sign)
Tamara Cohen October 28 at 8:37pm Reply• Report
Nothing is lame. Certainly not anything this group would suggest. And speaking of awesome people, pimp me. PLEASE pimp me. Suggest me as a FB friend to your friends who will appreciate my awesomeness and my "faults," as Mie said, bwahaha. I really need at least 2000 FB friends for a clothing line :). Free marketing.
Tamara Cohen October 28 at 8:38pm Reply• Report
I mean, really, how can I have a clothing line without somehow incorporating glitter? Blasphemy.
Mie Yoshinaga October 28 at 8:40pm Reply• Report
