What's even more retarded is that unless the weights are calibrated, there is going to be a broad range of differences in the weights anyway. But that would require regulatory stuff. I'll bet there will be corked bars and hollowed out kbells.

Let's be fair, guys. If you're pulling five plates, a little change will go unnoticed. But if you're murdering a workout with 35 pounds on the bar, a couple pounds is an appreciable difference.

This:
LOLZY wrote:If you plan to count your weight collars in the total weight of the barbell, be sure to weigh them first to verify their exact weight. Many common collars weigh only 6-7 ounces. This is not enough to equal a full pound when using two collars on a bar.
is the gayest shit I've ever read in my life.

Exactly. If you're going to wear that you need to have UNSMRT tattooed on your knuckles.
In the next county over there is a local outlaw MC named the Vagos. Recently a dumb ass poser was caught wearing their colors and sporting a 1% tattoo. The before mentioned dumb ass is missing his tattoo (and portion of his arm) and is eating his meals through a straw.

Five rounds for time of:
15 Medicine ball cleans, 20 pound ball
15 Wall ball shots, 20 pound ball
apparently if you didn't think this was hard, you "weren't doing it right"! Really?

I am happy but kind of sad. CF will inevitably fuck all of this up.

I'm guessing double unders. Done right.

The cult does to wimminz what it does to fitness. Makes it look good at first, before it all falls apart and ends up grizzled and tattered.

The first one there isn't an @fitter, she's a figure competitor. She trains pretty much Globo-style.

Wow. Just, wow.

http://games.crossfit.com/judge/225513

How does this Open workout video look to you? You be the judge and rate this athlete's workout - thumbs up if the movement looks legit, thumbs down if it's not.
And that's just the tip of the iceberg: hundreds and hundreds of videos of future physiotherapy patients humping bars overhead willy nilly with as much slop as necessary, never mind 20%.

So what I'm taking away from this is that HQ is too lazy to judge the video submissions themselves, so they're going to crowdsource the judging.

This means that if you want to win the Open or advance to the Games, you just need everyone at your box to click the living shit out of Thumbs Up, or have a code monkey run a script that will click the living shit out of Thumbs Up. YOU ARE TEH WINNING!

Holy Sweet Baby Gorilla Jesus.

why is it so hard for these fucking people to do a double under without jumping 3 feet into the air?

Seriously. Double-unders are such a (stupid) @F mainstay exercise that likely separates the can-dos and can'ts by a huge margin, it would make sense to practice them for anyone who wanted to be good at @F exercise comps.

Oh wait. Practicing one thing to the exclusion of everything else means specialization. Can't have that now, can we?

Or maybe @Fers just don't understand how to win their own game. They're trying to max out their DU work capacity by jumping higher, rather than minimizing work output and airtime simultaneously.

How stupid are DUs in the @F world, considering that the folks who do them the best and fastest, are doing them while putting out the MINIMAL amount of work???

I have gotten weary with Crossfit again. I was drawn into making some comments on a WGM post on FB and some cultist ambushed me with all of his earnest zealotry, and I just realized I was too apathetic to argue about it.

The hate is but a dying ember at this time.

I'm reminded of Ian McKown's favorite quote back in the good old days, "Never flinch, never weary, never despair".

I clicked on the link, and the first video that showed up had the girl doing shit-double unders and snatches.
This is the starting position of one of her first snatch reps.

Now look. I've eaten a pice of pie.
When we spin the pie again, the area cut out of the volume of the sphere equals fitness.

Wow. Double Unders aside, I wouldn't pick up a piece of paper with that snatch form. My back hurts watching it.
