At this rate, she'll weigh 60# in the next 4 months on the Zone diet and that will be a 2 x bodyweight snatch.

And honestly, it is a nice looking snatch, especially compared to many other @fitters I've seen.
We all like (or would like) to have a little fun with ANYC but give the chick credit. She puts in the work and spent time under the bar (yeah, I know where that's going, too).
She's trained at Lost Battalion in Queens. No place for slackers.

ANYC...

Work ethic? Props

Peers and mentors? Weak and questionable at best.

Direction? Soon will be what Tom Wolfe called a 'Social X-ray".

Sad.

Why doesn't Dan John do box jumps again?

SHUT THE FRONT DOOR! MEGHAN! That is ridiculous. And totally hot – you’re a true CrossFitter for sure! Yikes. I honestly don’t know how it hasn’t happened to me – those box jumps are dangerous. And apparently can require a tetanus shot. Wow.

Jen Tipping April 21, 2011 at 3:55 pm
Sorry for your injury Meghan, you are tough!!! How about a little warning for the fainters in your audience when posting pix of battle wounds?

Emily April 21, 2011 at 3:30 pm
Well, those who chose not to do box jumps today had to do weighted step ups instead and meghan decided mid-workout box jumps were the better option. Either way, Meghan probably deserves an Rx for the day!

Meghan April 21, 2011 at 3:30 pm
I DID lift 95lbs…. I think we were distracted by the goose egg on my leg-
Ps…it is just now staring to hurt- Luke , I may skip tomorrow- k?

Eric April 21, 2011 at 3:24 pm
Oh and you finished the Work Out correct? If so that’s Bad Azz! Why isn’t there RX next to your name because I know that a 95# Dead Lift is like a walk in the park for you.

Emily April 21, 2011 at 3:16 pm
9 stiches?? Meghan- you’re a champ

Lisa Milko April 21, 2011 at 3:05 pm
oh yes, plus a tetanus shot. Ouchie.

Eric April 21, 2011 at 2:59 pm
Meghan congrats on the war wound and a shout out also to the photographer Lisa, who captured this 9 stitch wound on photo.

Kevin K April 21, 2011 at 2:40 pm
wow! I can’t believe it took that many stitches. Did u ever take a pic lisa? Way to tough it out meghan!

Lisa Milko April 21, 2011 at 2:15 pm
Congrats to Meghan for not only learning box jumps, but also for taking 9 stitches to close up the “learning curve” gash on her shin.

In true @F form, I understand that many/most of the "rah rah rah" comments are actually from the @F trainers themselves.

I think that is the part that bothers me: it is one thing to get hurt. It does happen. Right now, I am typing with a sore back and sore traps, but not hurt, and I still probably couldn't compete really well today.

What bothers me is the cheering on of an injury like you have passed boot camp or something. "You are 'one of us'" now. The problem is that "us," in this community, just doesn't last very long. It's a conversation for another day, but one thing that I like about lifting and throwing (and Highland Games) is that you can "catch up" with people as there is decadeS long dedication. Most of the crossfitters I have met don't last a year or more. It's hard to catch up on who went where and, really, what works as this May Fly system seems to cause people to vanish rather quickly.

This is just fucking pathetic. "Oh, M. You're so tough because you barked your shin cause you're too uncoordinated to stick a stupid fucking box jump" which was probably higher than she should be jumping for training anyway. Why don't these assholes just go outside and flail themselves ? What's next ? Chancre pictures from the next HQ trainer party ?

Hey, assfitters, you're not a fucking "hero" nor are you "e-leet" for hurting yourselves and still shooting your WOD. IT IS JUST A FUCKING EXERCISE PROGRAM. You're not gladiators fighting for your life (Maybe Asstro could program that.) You're not getting shot at in the fucking desert somewhere. You're not even real "Athletes". You're just exercisers. You're stupid little kool aid swilling soccer moms and girly men with excessive discretionary income (and no discretion) whose lives are so damn shallow you have to pay to do this shit to yourselves.
Isn't the whole point of GPP training to get healthier and fitter and not become a deluded walking scab factory ?

Sweet humping, baby gorilla Jeebus ! What the holy hell is the matter with these stupid motherfuckers ?

(Man, I hit the tripwire on that one-My apologies to normal people).

Tamara Cohen wrote:REALLY, anyone who wanted to do the WODs could do them. For free. And, if they wanted to scale, they could scale. You didn't have to pay $10. You could just do the WOD and then look at the leaderboard to see how you compared. Why is that a problem? I mean, I don't understand why you need to pay your $10 in order to feel the CrossFit community love. If you can't do WODs as Rx'd normally, then you probably can't do Open WODs Rx'd. You shouldn't be surprised, and I'm sure that there are plenty of people at your affiliate who will still cheer for you and tell you that you are a winner so that you can sleep at night.

On a side note, did anyone hear Charles Barkley say the other night someone is signing him up for "Cross-Fit"?

I resent the negative press box jumps are getting because of XxxFit. They already dragged weightlifting's good name through the mud with their high reppery.
