you know @bok is lurking on these forums. We need someone from the inside posting their thoughts about @fit and couch. That would be some good shit right there.

Re: The couch thread
THis is from the same thread...
CrossFit HQ needs to do a much better job of keeping us affiliates in the loop.
The message board is NOT the way to do it.
We pay fees every year to be associated with CrossFit (with no problem btw) - but it would be really nice to have HQ keep affiliates up to date on things.
FGB, Reebok CrossFit affliates, prices to affiliate, etc - there is NO communication from HQ.
This does need to be addressed - I'm tired of rumors, searching the message board, etc - we pay good money - we need to be kept in the loop.
one would think with the number of people at HQ and the clout that they carry that they would be able to keep us up to date.
Gets old getting my info from the discussion board and not from HQ directly.
This is a communication problem and needs to be addressed. I'm tired of finding things out after the fact. CrossFit is a professional organization and needs to keep us affiliates in the loop.

From what I hear about corporate Reebok, they don't give a shit. They're incredibly disorganized, lack leadership, and have no clue what the people outside Boston think. I have two clients we've worked with them on projects the list few years.Jonny Canuck wrote:you know @bok is lurking on these forums. Re: The couch thread
a couple comments from the naked crossfitter blog. http://www.thenakedxfitter.com/2012/03/ ... ntion.html
I am an affiliate owner, after blasting WOD 1 on both my personal Facebook page, am friends with a few HQ people, and on my affiliate Facebook page I suddenly received 2 comments from Pukie on my affiliate website regarding articles I linked to and the fact that I did not dispute the articles vigorously enough in regards to any negativity about CrossFit...
Fuck man, big brother is watching and they don't like people talking shit... good thing we have people like you, BeastModal, Drywall and GorillaMan to keep shit honest!
Pukie is a fucking muppet. The argument Pukie is trying to make is so asinine there is no response any reasonable person can present that will make sense. It's like watching a functional retard throwing a tantrum and everyone around him trying to placate him.
Yes, Functional Retard. You are right. No one is even close to your retard strength

i just finished reading the Pukie thread about OPT. I think Pukie is losing the battle on his own FB page. 66 comment so far and Pukie and Russel Berger are on the defense.

They pay a once a year fee to AFFILIATE and use the name. You want better communication and direction.... join a franchise and pay a monthly royalty fee, plus your franchise fee to "buy in".Jonny Canuck wrote:THis is from the same thread...

What do they think they are paying for?
Their affiliate fee is nothing compared to what I pay in royalties.... idiots. But then again I get support and dont get ridiculed by the people taking my money.

Absolutely solid point. They pay about $2 grand, don't have to tithe a portion of their gross and get to attach themselves to the marketing juggernaut that this has somehow become. The Nightman wrote: They pay a once a year fee to AFFILIATE and use the name. Yes, it must suck to be mocked by the people you send the check to, and not many CEO's make a barely concealed FB sock puppet from which to post drunken rants, but you had to know what you were getting in to when you signed on with these tools.
I'm way out of the loop relative to a few years ago, but the handful of affiliate owners I connect with are running very lucrative and successful gyms-they just roll their eyes at all of this noise and keep cashing the $225/month membership checks.

If you're going to miss, miss a big attempt, not a 60kg snatch. This is the most inspirational compilation of misses I've ever seen.
Re: The couch thread
Seriously? I watched it twice checking to see if that was male or female. Then I realized that any female doing @fit has bigger arms than that fuck of an excuse for a man. Headband... gay. Knee socks... gay. Slapping mat like a queer... gay. Putting ur hands on ur hips in such a feminine way... gay. Another shining example of why this country is fucked.Hymen Asshole wrote:For Quack

I don't believe they are from the USA.
Re: The couch thread
Maybe not these specific "men". But these @fit men all look alike its hard to distinguish.

Writing a takedown on @fit is the new way to get noticed but really his arguments, as sound as they are are all footnotes to the couch thread. What happens when an exercise science blogger decides to boost his site traffic and put himself on the map.

He did have one of the best lines I've read about @fit referring to it as a "randomized non-system of training".WildGorillaMan wrote:Also known as:syaigh wrote:What happens when a real scientist evaluates the shitstorm:

I thought the the the original "Tabata" involved already very fit Japanese Olympic Speed skaters? And was done on ergometers (exercise bikes) so that everything could be measured and to get them (the skaters) off the ice.
