Tasca described what we see on the videotape: "The Ridgefield Park officer automatically charges and takes him down to the ground. I was quite shocked. As he's doing that, another Ridgefield Park officer flies to the scene in his car, jumps out and starts punching him in the head."
On the tape you can hear Tara, the mother, and Kyle, her son, screaming, "Why are you punching him?" and "Stop punching me!"
The two Ridgefield Park Sergeants are never heard refuting the claims that they punched the 22 year-old man as he was waiting for an ambulance.
Even worse, Kyle was never charged, nor arrested, for any offense. Tasca says it's because he never threatened, did not have a weapon, and indeed never resisted and was not violent.

With the Bloomberg Gun Thread going:

In short, Sherriff's Captain makes a lobbying effort distributing pictures he claims are of outlaw bikers with CCW permits. Turns out it's illegal to disclose CCW permit holders, as well as to publish driver's license photos.
Shithead gets exonerated because he didn't know this.
What a defense.
Edit: not exonerated, cleared of wrongdoing.

Re: Officer Friendly.
$27 million worth of baltimore tax money used to settle or fight lawsuits against the city police.
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/04/1 ... lp00000009
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/04/1 ... lp00000009
In one of the more unusual police brutality lawsuits in recent years, 90-year-old Baltimore resident Venus Green was awarded a $95,000 settlement earlier this month after a 2009 incident in which she locked a police officer in the basement of her home.
According to WBAL TV, police came to Green's home after her grandson Tallie had been shot. Green told the TV station that Tallie had been shot at a convenience store, but officers insisted it happened in Green's home, and that Tallie had either been shot by Green or had shot himself. With that, one officer forced his way into her home, without a warrant, toward the basement where Tallie lived to look for blood or other evidence.
Green told WBAL the officer shoved her, pushed her over a chair, handcuffed her and insulted her. When the officer then went into her basement, she says she shut the door and locked him inside. She later brought a civil rights lawsuit, and in early April accepted the city's settlement offer. "[I'm a] law-abiding citizen," Green told WBAL. "I've never been arrested, I paid my taxes, owned my home, my husband died 34 years ago. raised my son and I have been brutally abused. I feel like the police department needs to go back to school."
Green now seems destined to become part of Baltimore lore. In an April 10 Baltimore Sun op-ed, Stevenson University assistant professor Heather Harris deemed her a "fierce angel," a reference to the book by Sheri Parks. It's a phrase Parks uses "to describe an African-American woman who is almost impossibly strong and selfless."
WBAL reports that the city of Baltimore has paid out nearly $17 million over the last two years in police brutality settlements. Baltimore Brew reports the city has spent another $10.4 million defending lawsuits in court, and more are on the way. One couple who claims they were illegally searched and harassed by police looking for drugs has been approved for $155,000, and a motorcyclist struck by a Baltimore cop is due another $115,000.
The city has been subject to several suits from citizens who were arrested, harassed or threatened for recording on-duty police officers, despite the fact that the state's courts and attorney general have ruled that doing so isn't illegal. The Baltimore Police Department finally issued a directive to its officers not to arrest citizens for recording officers in public places, but according to some reports, police subsequently arrested camera and cell phone-toting citizens for loitering.
Baltimore City Council President Bernard Young seems less concerned about the possibility that police are violating the rights of Baltimore citizens than the fact that citizens who seek compensation are hurting the city's bottom line. Young voted against the settlement for Ms. Green, explaining that he was "tired of the police department bleeding money."

A Sacramento, California area family is mourning the death of their mentally disabled son, who was shot to death by a sheriff’s deputy after the family had called the sheriff’s department for help in restraining him. Newspaper accounts suggest the deputy ordered the young man—a severe germophobe—onto the ground, which sparked intense struggling. After a tussle, the deputy shot the man in front of his family.

Kids need nonstop supervision in a suburban park?
The park two blocks from my house is where we went all the time from the age of maybe 8 til we were teenagers. Not an adult in sight. Be home by 5:30 and we were good.
Maybe leaving a 6 year old wasn't a great idea, but is there actually a law that was broken? Serious question.

Not the same thing.
Letting your kids play outside is one thing, leaving your children in a public park while you fuck about town is quite another.
And yes it's a law. It's called child endangerment/neglect. The main issue is really a lack of common sense. Jeezus leaving a 6 year old with a 9 year old is fucking retarded.

Re: Officer Friendly.
I have a 6 year old and a 9 year old, that guy is a dumbfuck.
People dont watch their kids. Last year this little hispanic boy (4 or 5 years old) knocks on my door, crying. Long story short it was his fuciking border hopper Father's weekend to have the kid from the ex. He left the kid in the house catycorner from mine with the glass door locked. The boy crawled out of the window and came to my house. The cops ended up getting ahold of the father's Boss, who then had him call the cops on scene. The fucker told them on the phone that he had just gone to Home Depot, about 10 minutes from us. Beaner took an hour to get there. You know that cocksucker put hanging some drywall on a saturday above beeing with his kid and deciced you don't need a sitter if you just treat them like a dog.
The cops were not amussed. Before the guy showe up I said "If you guys want to fill that asshole in I won't say shit if you let me help." We all laughed and then I went back to what I was doing.
Just 2 weeks ago I was with my family at one of those McDonald's with a playground. I look over to the street that leads out of a 3rd Worlder trailer park and an Ice cream truck is heading for US Highway 1 and what do I see right behind it? A small hispanic toddler, somewhere around 2 1/2-3 years old right on the things ass, heading the same way.
So I run the fuck out towards them, horrified that I am not going to get there before this little 2 foot nothing child goes out into the highway. I got to him right before the Ice Cream truck was about to turn up the highway. The Driver looked at me in the side mirror and saw the kid. Never mind that he was allmost the Pied Piper of Death for this little boy who followed his ass, he just went on his way.
So here I am am with a freaked out kid because I am keeping him from the street and I dont see an adult in site until 30 seconds later a minvan comes up the trailer park road and a Hispanic mal gets out and he says in broken english "That's my cousins kid. " and at that I hear this screaming from down the road and there is this stereotypical fat assed, bleached blond striked hair mexican bitch running towards us. It was the mother.
And not a single thank you to the Gringo who saved her kid's life. Not that I needed it but WTF?
That truck works our hood. I won't let my kid's get anything from his truck and so far I have flipped him off 3 times.
So if Officer Friendly wants to throw the book at shitheads like these I have no problem with it. Watch your kids.

Fucking whore mother of one of my daughter's gymnastics teammates dropped her and her little brother off at the water park last year...a 10 year old and a 6 year old...just dropped them off at the fucking door, didn't come in to see what was going on or talk to anyone.

Too many mindless motherfuckers these days. That cunt takes the cake. If I was the father and those kids got abducted because of that I'd do shit to her that would make the boy's from the Spanish inquistion go "Damn he ruthless!"
Bitch was probably off to ride her secret boyfriends cock and could not be bothered with details like making sure her kid's are safe.

I don't know if you have kids Proto but I know that when I became a Dad, my protectiveness for kids went from being concerned to not going to sit there and it let a child get hurt by anyone especially dumb fuck mindless parents. The afore mention incidents really pissed me off, the second one horrified me as I did not think I was going to get to him in time as I was running for him.
If that kid had got hit in front of me (By cars doing 35-50MPH on that road) I'd be seeing that for the rest of my life. The thought of that afterwards had me pretty fucking off my center for the rest of the night.
If I was a Cop, those fucking people who let their kid's jump around in the car without seatbelts so if they get in a wreck their kid will launch like a torpeedo would get the full treatment. That ticket book would fly and I would be doing everything I could to make them get stupid so I can haul their ass in. Jujutsu gives me an eleavated ability to cause extreme pain with no noticable damage.

Okay, my bad for starting a parenting discussion.
Let's get back to discussing police corruption and brutality.
Let's get back to discussing police corruption and brutality.
In January, NYPD cops arrested 19-year-old Jateik Reed, accusing him of possession of marijuana and cocaine and assault of a police officer. Cops said Reed attempted to dump his drugs before head-butting one cop and punching another. Predictably, surveillance video now appears to contradict the police's account of narcotics.
After the teenager was arrested, his mother, a friend of hers and Reed's 16-year-old brother went to the precinct station to complain. They were arrested after cops say Reed’s younger brother swung at cops. Police denied allegations of brutality against Reed until video surfaced indicating police brutality, compelling the District Attorney to investigate.
