But it is "Crossfit Mean Streets", so watch yo ass, muffukkas!
If Ronnie was a real tough guy, he would know the value of "shutting the fuck up". Do the deed, speak nothing of it, nobody's the wiser... but, no, he has to be the typical @fit moron and post every single move he makes online just to prove how badass his box is. He needs an ass whipping for several reasons.
I'd sure like to get all up in Agerbomb.
have you ever been as far as even considered go want to do look more like?

I get these annoying Amazon local discount emails every day, and Amazon thinks I still live in Suffolk. Yesterday was a discount membership offer to CF Transcend (nice name, so deep), Holtsville. The competition amongst each other is already killing them(I hope).

Re: The couch thread
There are now 34 McBoxes east of the Nassau/Queens line. But things are getting shifty. One of the newer boxes is actually owned by a guy who owns 3 franchised commercial gyms. He used a sock puppet to get the affiliate. @fit members have access to the amenities of his nearest gym and he's undercutting the shit out of the other @fit prices. The Ginger Beard Man wrote:Two in Amityville alone?Cave Canem wrote:All that for only $200/month. Re: The couch thread
This is where HQ needs to step in and enforce quality control, but they will NEVER do that... shit will hit the fan HARD one day soon
Re: The couch thread
what does HQ care? they collect fees from each box that opens. The more boxes, the more money. And they've managed to dodge franchise taxes, for now, and avoid any responsibility for their boxes' behavior. They've brainwashed the cult to believe any screw ups or injuries are their own fault.

Random query....
Has CF ever successfully enforced their trademark rights in court? or just threat letters?

Re: The couch thread
I don't have an answer, but my guess is no. The reason is b/c nobody who's infringed has enough money at stake to bother fighting it. The people infringing the "mark" are typically somewhat loyal to Crossfit, and they usually just roll over or quit and move on (Greyskull).Blaidd Drwg wrote:Random query....

Some idiot running a psuedo-Cultfit box just changes the name rather than bother with a federal lawsuit. Same for the 5 to 6 various D-bags running Crossfit-mocking websites. It's a pastime, not a serious income stream.
The battle would come if some big entity like 24 Hour Fitness decided to start using the Crossfit name. Then you'd see a serious battle. Some dipwad like Drywall just doesn't have enough invested to make it worth his time to take up a legal crusade so he can keep throwing rocks at the edifice.

That was a pretty easy win, and usually doesn't take a judge/jury to "win" the case.WildGorillaMan wrote:Since you asked, here they are crowing about a successful defense.

I keep thinking of "Pilates" and how they lost, I could see it happening with CF if a big enough company feels like taking them to court. We would get a chance to see Saran's elite skills at work.

Re: The couch thread
Well, what about the whole idea of them NOT being a franchise, but only allowing approved providers and sources to write for or be profiled in the CF "journal". (Its a newsletter, nothing close to a journal).
Or maybe its just that they're a cult. Hmmmm. Libertarians? Or libertines?
Not much of an open source now, is it.

Just left a friend's grand opening of his new @fit gym. Strength based guy. Smart conditioning and no tolerance of stupid stuff. Majored in exercise science at Ball State. He will be one of the good ones around the @fit world.

exercise science major + crossfit sounds like a deadly case of stupid. Hope he has something in the plus column besides training partner.

Re: The couch thread
But in all seriousness he has trained people since he was 21. He's 40 and looks better than most 21 year olds. I'm all about bashing the bad ones. I think he will do pretty well with it.Blaidd Drwg wrote:exercise science major + crossfit sounds like a deadly case of stupid. Hope he has something in the plus column besides training partner.

True, but I've read your log, whinge report and injury list.

Re: The couch thread
I gauge CF's the same way I gauge people, the way they treat children the elderly and small animals. Step into a CF full of shirtless twinks and yoga mommies with a thousand yard stare..run do not walk away. By the same token if the first thing I see is a fat old man pushing an empty prowler and someone vaguely resembling my mom doing deadlifts with good form, it's more likely GTG.

You big softee. Truthiness on kids, old people, and animals-- only thing that ever upset me at work.
