Completely off topic but this is 100% the reason why bank/financial services firms have to pay their employees out the ass. Even if the company is losing money overall.Chessman wrote:If you allow them to build a business inside of yours and they leave, you got what you deserved.

Weren't they divorcing because Couch was cheating on her? And after she found out tried to convince the doctors to not give her life-saving measures when her pregnancy had complications?
This drama is on par with all the petty shit HQ loves to pull. A man reaps what he sows.

How does a 50/50 split work when it comes to Glassman and Anthos disagreeing on something?
Presumably they want the 50% share to get a close look at the books and find a way to gain control via the courts down the road?

Hopefully for Anthos, the Operating Agreement doesn't require a drinking contest.milosz wrote:How does a 50/50 split work when it comes to Glassman and Anthos disagreeing on something?

Dear Lord: So @fit has changed the world, but Apple has not? Fucking myopia in these people. Some companies are founded to change the world (CrossFit). Some are to offer new, unique, useful products (... Apple ...).
Re: The couch thread
I'd say Crossfit changed the world. Suddenly, non-athletes everywhere became elite athletes.

OMG!! We're about to get to 3 million views of this shitfest that Bill (He's a)Fox started in January '06. I roughly did the math...unless I'm an idiot, at the current count that's approximately 1,226 views per day. That's a lot of fucking lurker-looking.

One of the downsides of the Internet is that it allows like-minded people to form communities, and sometimes those communities are stupid.

checking facts:
glassman owns 50%
his (ex)-wife owns 50%
their divorce is not final, so her 50% stake is in dispute?
is that why there is a fight about the ex selling her share to the evil equity investor?
did none of the original x-fit trainers--eva t, annie , for example--get an equity stake?

One theory I've heard about why this fight is happening is that the HQ cronies--that won't be able to get good jobs anywhere else post-HQ--are scared shitless that they will be replaced when their incompetence is exposed to people who aren't willing to put up with it.dead man walking wrote:checking facts:

Along that line, another theory is that a new 50% partner would become privy to HQ's books and where the money really goes...which, considering the level of professionalism their legal counsel displays, we could only expect the same from their accounting, no?

If the prospective new partner is professionally run, the offer would be contingent upon seeing the books. What a duck says wrote:Along that line, another theory is that a new 50% partner would become privy to HQ's books and where the money really goes...which, considering the level of professionalism their legal counsel displays, we could only expect the same from their accounting, no?

The entire operation is a 50/50 endeavor between the two? Nobody else put up any cash in any way or received any equity?
How much would 50% be worth?

Re: The couch thread
This is the more likely scenario. Business owners routinely engage in shenanigans using business funds as personal money. I'd wager GG has looser interpretations of US tax laws than the IRS does. What a duck says wrote:Along that line, another theory is that a new 50% partner would become privy to HQ's books and where the money really goes...which, considering the level of professionalism their legal counsel displays, we could only expect the same from their accounting, no?

So, in short, this is just Greg trying to poison the well rather than cede any sort of control over his enterprise?

Hey @Fers...STFU about Lochte "doing @F" for his training based on this one Gatorade promo video:
This is not @F, never will be @F. This is training with a purpose. His REAL S&C coach, Matt Delancey of the U of Florida, states this about his training:

He swims to get better at swimming, he lifts to make himself a stronger/better "jumper" to improve his specialized needs in the pool. This is the opposite of misguided "increased work capacity" training. There's obvious reasons why no one takes you guys seriously outside of your little boxes.A significant part of Lochte’s training has been weight work, both the Strongman version, where he flips tractor tires, heaves beer kegs in the air and whips heavy ropes, and more traditional power circuits that include squats and Olympic lifts like cleans and snatches and jerks. “Basically everything is designed to make him a better jumper because jumping is highly correlated to better starts, better walls and a great streamlined dolphin kick."

Why would you say that? Bryan Kelly worked for Goldman and has an MBA and law degree from Stanford. Russ Green and Russell Berger have crossfitted for several years and have blogs.
