On the surface, if you don't have any background at all in S&C, it sounds so very reasonable.

Amazon certified reviews coming out before the book was available on Amazon?
I wouldn't be surprised if BMack went the way of Tim Ferris and the Beachbody guys by paying people to write reviews all over the Internet.

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Power Speed ENDURANCE: A Skill-Based Approach to Endurance Training (Paperback)
I pre-odered this book in October and greatly anticipated its release. After some publishing SNAFUs it was released November 12th. Amazon will not have it in stock until November 17th, however, at least 13 reviews have appeared (all 5 stars) with several from supposed "Verified Amazon Purchases," reviews from customers who have been verified to have purchased the book through Amazon. I find this quite spurious considering these reviews were posted the very day the book was released and 5 days prior to Amazon's stated possession. Amazon, you need to do a better job of providing objective reviews. When the book finally gets here I will update my post with a proper review.

Heh.

People here should provide Wolf Shirt quality reviews.
It has 25+ five star reviews before it was even released.

Tim Ferris would have had 500 though at least he was honest about paying folks to do so.

That book needs a Shapetastic review or three.

NOOO! I live not far from the place that makes the Wolf Shirts. Those reviews were THE BEST THING that ever happened to that ridiculous outfit. The potential for a similar backfire is huge here.

You underestimate the power of teh IGx snark. The product could be described similar to this one:

I got bored doing it, but if you read the reviewer's total reviews, there is usually only one and, if two, it is a Paleo Cookbook. Amazon reviewers, the real ones, are pretty harsh overall, but their comments are worth noting, if you are a writer. So, it does have the look of the thing some of the people in the fitness industry are doing: you write a book, smack its numbers up high on Amazon for a day, then note that you are a "Best Selling Author."

Frankly, it troubles me, but then I have to remind myself that no one cares truly...

For ebooks, you can give it away free, I think on prerelease, and get people to give a review to push it higher in the given category.

I did it for someone a while back. Even had the "verified buyer", or whatever it's called, tag on there.

Not a great book. The most useful part is Starrett's mobility stuff, but that can be found free. I don't have the background to decipher the swimming instruction, but the running instruction is straight out of the Revolution Running video/Chi running/POSE...the biking stuff...I don't know

Meh, just not useful in general, and on every page there's an example of just what kind of shit BMacncheez doesn't know. His inked out arms are creepy, I keep thinking he's wearing arm warmers...it looks like the ex-skinhead buddy of mine who got all his skinhead ink blacked out on his arms...no artist merit, it's just covering something worse.

If he is actually getting results with this, it's accidental, not because he knows what he's doing.

Getting pure endurance junkies to do intervals makes them feel like superheros, for a very short time. And then they watch the base they spent years building, erode away, and wonder what happned. By the time they realize, they've already spent too much time praising the guy and their criticism seems like sour grapes. No one really knows that Bmacncheese hasn't completed any races in a long time. Seems that should be in a review, asap.

Somebody really needs to tell him that he can get the same results (DNF) whether he follows this program or doesn't train at all.

His youtube lectures and interviews seem to indicate a guy who has figured out how to mesmerize mediocre people with bullshit and razzle dazzle.

In other words, he's just another Glassman.

Glad to see they left the stupidity in the programming.

If I'm not mistaken, young Dan Tyminski who was in the intro to that video, took a lot of shit from the home office for being sponsored by X-fit supplements.
