I noticed that Reebok bought out or partnered with one of the adventure races and has been pimping SpartanFit as well now.

Re: The couch thread
There is no bottom. I can't count the times I've thought that these morons have gotten as low as possible and yet they seem to get in deeper and deeper. With so many anti-Reebok people spouting off, I wonder what would happen to the gaymes if Reebok pulled out at the last minute. Why sponsor something ift he participants are only going to denigrate your product?

I'm enjoying how even the most wild-eyed Cultists are telling Berger to shove it.
On FB it's about 50/50 for people telling CFHQ they're embarrassing themselves:

Re: The couch thread
I had a short conversation with a gym owner who does crossfit-ish training about business and how crossfit is her biggest competition. I asked if she thought affiliating would be worth it just to be able to put crossfit in her name. She didn't think so as she has gotten a good bit of business from people who in one form or another gotten turned off of crossfit and wanted nothing to do with crossfit again.
Maybe I will open a gym one day, affiliate and call it Common Sense Crossfit and do nothing crossfit. I doubt HQ would approve the name though.

They are pimping Rebook Spartan WODs:
Main set: equipment = log or sandbag, medicine ball
Clean and squat a log or sandbag (4-6 reps) -- should be heavy -- Maxed out by 6th rep
Recover, Repeat
Push press log or sandbag over head (4-6 reps) -- should be heavy -- Maxed out by 6th rep
Recover, Repeat
20 Full sit-ups holding log or sandbag over chest
Recover, Repeat
20 ballslams, 20 burpees
Recover, Repeat
Recovery time may be 2-3 minutes before you start your second set. The key is to build strength; so make sure you are ready to go all out for your second set.

That said, I can tell you -beyond a shadow of a doubt- based solely on reading that comment and that comment alone, that she's a fucking idiot. And I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if she, at one point or another, worked Uncle Rhabdo into a family function somehow.
Jesus Fucking Christ with a capital "F" what is it with people? To me this is right up there with whoever that stupid idiot was who served hummus at her kid's birthday instead of cake.
And I continually ask myself, when reading the constant flood of bloviation, "What are these fucksticks trying to prove?" ... It's Jonestown-esque dedication over something so simple and so stupid as an exercise "program." It blows Rip's cult of Milk-Chugging Fatties and Internet-Weight-Lifting Dillitantes right out of the fucking water.
It's fucking ridiculous.

Re: The couch thread
It goes back to the original issue raised in Colorado Springs. Greg Glassman said to the group: "What Dan John does is Crossfit. What Mark Twight does is Crossfit. What Scott Sonnan does is Crossfit."
I think it was SS...gymnastics guy. So, from the beginning, and GG was quite candid about this, crossfit was a way of training where if you did these basic elements of training, the O lifts and the powerlifts and some gymnastics mixed with play and games, it was under the umbrella "crossfit." He offered me a free affiliate to call what i wanted, and I appreciated that and thank God I didn't do it, to sit in the inner circle.
I have always believed that, if it ever came to court, the concept of the term "crossfit" would be more like "weightraining" something that is so freely used...even by the founder...that it can be used anywhere. My wife gets a fitness magazine that has two to four pages of crossfit reebok stuff every month and it is one step from the beach ball workouts from Seventeen magazine. So, doing a KB workout with the six basic moves fits under the umbrella easily.
The original first thing I went to with Greg and Lauren after Santa Cruz, in Colorado Springs was amazing. John, the guy who trains UFC guys, was there and I learned a ton. Robb Wolf and I ate every meal together. Mark Twight gave a great talk on endurance endurance and shot holes in the Zone Diet (as did others). I was with some of the best people in the industry for a couple of days but nobody had much time to really talk. The next time, they had a whole session on teaching the kipping pull up, it was like the RKC in detail, and I spent a lot of time talking the guy running the place off the roof (let's just say that the facility was getting broken).
So, "in the beginning," you couldn't have done better than that first gathering. Even today, I would travel to sit with John, Scott, Mark and Robb...and dozens of others like Grady Mc...but I doubt it will happen again.
Yesterday, I crossfitted. I did a hypertrophy workout in the morning and in the afternoon I did Front Squats and Snatches. Today, I might go do Bikram Yoga Crossfitstyle: I will take a pic and video of everything I do and post it online.
