I feel similarly in the sense that voting according to party principles is just about useless. I like Marco well enough but let's face it, he's still 'under qualified'. The Obama was, too, but The Obama had the media sucking his dick and white people wanted to feel NOT RACIST. Also, if Rubio or any other non Dem were to be elected, they would be shredded by the media for the next 4 years. Except Bernie....they'll shred Bernie.

So, why not give a shot to a seemingly genuine guy who is a lefty, but would be reviled by the media as POTUS? He's got just about zero shot at implementing any socialist agenda that right wingers fear about him, and while some of his ideas are batshit crazy, if he can get just a couple of domestic matters started on a new and right track, while laying off of the 2nd amendment, and not kissing Muslim ass, he might be the guy to pave the way for a course correction to be led by perhaps Rubio or someone else once they age a bit. NFW is Bernie any more than a 4 year guy in the highly unlikely event he gets the nod.

Ed Koch started off pretty far to the left as mayor of NY and took that helm from Abe Beam (another Jew).....the city was a mess growing-up. Ed was definitely more of a moderate/conservative Dem when it was all said and done--he was an honest man. I suspect Bernie is not going to tolerate too much whining from various facets of American society who claim to be victims (and the media and the lemmings they serve will shred him for that). It's still early in the game, but I will slap a Bernie bumper sticker next to my USMC sticker down the road if I still feel the same way at that junction.

For many reasons, I hope to God we get a robust increase in minimum wage. And, whatever that is, military personnel should see a congruent match.

I also hope we see a complete revamp of the criminal justice system (especially incarceration for non-violent crimes, which is almost always fucking ludicrous).

Then, when black males still own the lion's share of prison occupancy, we'll see what kind of excuses white apologists come up with at that point. The thing is, most black males don't commit crimes even when they're poor and they don't have $15/hr jobs. Bernie's ideas will help people who deserve better and put the spotlight on the mopes who want to play the role of gangsta--perhaps an unintended consequence, but certainly a very likely one.

Our prisons are our great shame. I am not so concerned with the length of sentence as I am with the conditions. Our prisons are rape farms: specifically black on white rape. And the crowding...
