Re: What about that Gamespot stock, eh?
I totally agree with you that this is a flash in the pan and without a plan and ability to follow said plan anyone will fail...and that utilizing etfs or close to zero fee index funds is a much easier and more consistent method. The concept of wsb as I have seen is two things 1. learning from others...

Re: What about that Gamespot stock, eh?
Happy for the WSB'ers on this one but nearly all of them face wholesale slaughter in the long run and that is sad. The media coverage will contribute to it, which is also a drag. You are probably right but when I started watching the threads at wsb a couple years ago the information was at a much l...

Re: What about that Gamespot stock, eh?
This is amazing. I have lurked on wsb and their discord channel on and off for a while. This is a new breed of traders, they aren't the 90's day traders or arbitragers. They are gamers. Quite a while ago someone there figured out a "cheat" that what was later termed "infinity leverage...

Re: Battling Depression
You might look into microdosing psylicobin or lsd. I have heard the Pollan's book on the subject of psychedelics is pretty good but I have not read it. I have battled persistent depression. Exercise helped keep it under control or at least at lower levels but it was quite bad for a while. During tha...

Re: Cities to visit in the Southwest
Hey Fatcat, I've traveled pretty extensively through Arizona and New Mexico (used to live in Arizona for a number of years and traveled back through twice this year). Less so through Texas. I would recommend going only one of the states. Austin is a long drive from Taos or Sedona and it isn't a fun ...

Re: Pocket Knife Recommendations
A friend gave me a griptilian. It is a quality knife that will last a long time under a lot of abuse. It is a bit larger (bigger profile grip) than the other knives I usually carry. I like small, easy to conceal and carry knives. I have carried one of these two for the past couple years and for $25-...

Re: Do you think you have a soul?
The hardest thing for humans to do, it seems, is to settle for not-knowing. Just accepting lack of knowledge. Living with the unanswered question. As seaahill mentions, storytelling is in the blood. We inevitably take a bucket of facts and no matter how discordant thy are, we find a story that make...

Don't know about his best but it certainly is good and probably his most accessible, even Oprah liked it. Blood Meridian is the the one that continues to eat away at me. And I don't know much about edgy. That book is a force of nature that breathes death down the reader's neck. Living in the Southw...

Re: Fiction books you've read multiple times
Stronger man than I...oi. That book ruined an entire vacation for me. I think it's by far McCarthy's best book. The language is so masterfully crafted. It is also truly terrifying. All the edgy bastards talk about "Blood Meridian", just to be edgy. Then you speak with them, and you can te...

Re: Health insurance premiums
Insurance brokers probably won't help you with plans on the exchanges because CMS decided they shouldn't get paid for it. Check out a health care sharing ministry (seriously). They're not for everybody, but might work for you. I've been using a health care sharing ministry for a couple years now. I...

Lawerence Jones is the originator of the strain/counterstrain technique. He wrote a book entitled Jones Strain Counterstrain. The guy you mention may be good at the method, I have no idea. s/cs can be very helpful when the pain is extreme/acute in my experience. That is how Jones figured out the tec...

That is a quick trip to catch sights, try to hike and to do the driving. The drive plus a decent hike is going to take most of one day. Damn, I missed the boat on this one. I would have recommended flying into Albuquerque and driving to Vegas. It is 8 hours and you can divide it up in some neat places. In abq there is a lot of stuff including self guided "Breaking Bad" tours if you are into that kind of thing. Santa Fe is ...

What the fuck? A McGregor t-shirt ad at the end? re: Jackson.... He was insane. One of the best punchers I've ever seen. Just pure, effortless power. Guys knocked cold with their eyes still open, or put on queer street and just sort of wandering around the ring. McClellan was fun, too. He KO'd Jack...

Re: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
I like the sounds of the Morita therapy. I had a friend who was thrown in jail for a long weekend. He said at first he went through a lot of emotions, then he started hearing all sorts of music he listened to as a young man, then more emotions etc. When he was freed he didn't want to leave because, ...

The Mob Museum is great! It is really well put together and one of my favorite museums. http://themobmuseum.org/ The Fremont street area has under gone a renovation and a lot of new hip businesses. There is a small business incubator built out of shipping containers that is supposed to be pretty nea...

He pointed to his lower arm and asked me what that area was called. For a second I thought that he must have determined that EMTs were idiots, but soon realized that bastard didn't know the proper name for a humerus. Upper (proximal) arm is the humerus. Lower (distal) is composed of the radius and ...
