Re: Jump rope

I love jumping rope. I usually do it in my garage when the weather is better. I worry about shin splints doing too much, but it's great to alternate with swings.

Re: Cluster Sets

I'd rather pop my pecker but..... Chiropractor and 3 weeks off. I spent the last hours in my 40's getting re-adjusted. Thankfully it's been 11 months since it's been fucked up. Or I'll do Yoga with Adriene for 30 days. She's cute but gets fucking annoying around day 10. Show me a hot looking chick, ...

Re: Cluster Sets

It's usually the 3rd or 4th time in EDT when it happens. Sucks. Still can do complexes and chains though. The heavy shit days are over. Use mostly 45's and 55's now.

Re: Cluster Sets

Cluster sets work great with kettlebells. I used to do them and liked the results Today, for me they're an injury waiting to happen. Depending on how heavy you want to go, you can start with a 45 seconds rest and work your way down as you get stronger to 15. Or just do one rep every 15 seconds and a...

Re: Once Upon a Time in Hollywood...

I watched it last night, free DVD from the library. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Leo did a great acting job. I loved the ending. Though in real life Sadie (Susan Atkins) suffered terribly until she died, losing a leg and a long torturous bout with cancer.

Re: Pavhole on Rogan

I did read where DJ said the kettlebell community split and is now dead. He absolutely nailed it. Fredo had a lot to do with that. Interesting. Got a link or something? I don't follow DJ closely--he writes a lot and often I don't find it easy to follow his train of thought--but when he deigns to co...

Re: Pavhole on Rogan

Speaking of A+A According to people who do the research and work with TdF cyclists, the way to build mitochondria is via Zone 2 cardio training, and it's got to be 3+ hours weekly, preferably more, to do so. Peter Attia's podcast below, with Inigo San Millan, PhD, is extremely informative and worth...

Re: Pavhole on Rogan

Just checked out the forum for the first time in a couple of weeks. Boy, did they ruin any fun with kettlebells. I don't give 2 fucks about mitochondria or any of that shit. There is nothing left to discuss, so they find a bullshit subject and analyze it to death. Remember when either DD or those id...

Re: Spiritual Well-Being

What has helped me spiritually is renaissance with Catholicism. Not the man made rules or the archaic teachings. Doing the rosary every day has helped me a great deal. It takes about 12-15 minutes and I can do it in the car in total silence if I squeezed for time. I also feel great when I'm not drin...

Re: Pavhole on Rogan

I will give Pavel credit in the fact that he never bad mouths anyone. He just sells his snake oil and counts his money. You can't be this secretive and lie and not be called out however. The simple fact is, he didn't need to. Just play the Evil Pseudo Russian role would have been just fine. His old ...

Really talking about all of this without mentioning John Du Cane is silly.
Pavel has been gone so long from DD, Ducane has gotten the stink off of him.

Anybody thinking of getting an IsoChain?

Not to resurrect old Pavel is a fraud bullshit....but..... I used to think highly of Pavel. I didn't necessarily agree with everything he said, but that was fine. I liked the core of what he did and thought it all "made sense." But doing a critical rethinking.....what has he done that really works?...

Anyone who needs instructions for how to progress from one size bell to the next for 10 sets of 10 swings is a full on nimrod. Absolutely correct. But, and it's a big But, Have you been to the StrongFirst forum? There are 10 people who know what they're doing and have the ability to think. The rest...

Re: KB Decathlon

Leave it to losers who can take a great tool like a kettlebells and mess it up. I like complexes and chains as much as anybody, but you need to know when it's time to put the bell down. Challenges aren't smart unless you train for them. Dan John has a couple of tests, the Eagle which is farmers carr...

Re: Why Aren't You Lifting Barbells?

I love barbell work. But with a new job working from home and some parental responsibilities, the nearest real gym is 15 minutes each way. So that being said, I use Kettlebells for front squats, rows, TGUs presses and ballistic stuff. Go to a Planet Fitness (which is 2 miles away) 2-3 times a week t...

I don't go to StrongFirst anymore. The problem I have is, I'm not interested in the training philosophy. And all the tea bagger falling in line. It's as if you'll get dick cancer if you tweak something. I like Getups for what they are, getups. Not interested in Bent Press, A + A, Q + D. S + S. It so...

Re: Essential Kettlebelling

Here is non-essential kettlebelling. On StrongFirst Instagram there was a lady who was doing sets of 4 two hand swings every 30 seconds with a 32kg for 70 minutes. What a colossal waste of time. I would die of boredom.
