PVC parallettes are legit IMO. They don't achieve more than what could be done with a couple of chairs, but doing handstand pushups with a neutral grip hits your triceps much harder.protobuilder wrote:Yeah they do "muscle ups" but when was the last time they dragged out their silly PVC paralettes, etc.?
L-sits are cool too.

Re: The couch thread
I'm not all for the analytical bullshit about why @fitters are d bags but the thread over there about the gaymes scoring is driving me up a fucking wall. They are all trying to figure out how to score evenly because, obviously, the scores on the first day with 75 competitors are a much more important component in the final score than the second day scores, with 16 competitors due to the fact that points are based on finishing order.
Seems to me like the only way to equally weight the second day scores would be to take all those competitors and re-rank them relative to each other out of 16 on every event. Then, looking back at the final 16 you could evaluate them as if they were the only ones to have competed. This seems incredibly simple and straightforward to me, am I missing something?

Re: The couch thread
I've heard Castro tried to lowball a guy for a website name he wanted. The guy said he would have sold it to him but the price Castro named was insulting.
I don't think couch bothered with real programming, either, it was random shit because, honestly, that's about as good as it can get with the mishmash of shit @F does.
I don't know why you faggots think the @F games events were stupid...the were varied and random. Perfect.
@F_SLUT_X tells me that GG is drinking more and more, and not coping with the money or the apparent pressure from the wife to have more kids well. She's dirty a little stupid skank, though, so I have a hard time believing anything she tells me.

Castro is a man ramming sack of monkey shit.
There are a few old @F workouts that I cut in half and like a good bit. Couch misunderstood and misapplied shit he was exposed to. The new generation of hippies in CFHQ only know th shit Couch taught them. It's like a drunken blind guy trying teaching another drunken blind guy how to paint the Mona Lisa.
Here's Couch kicking off the Gaymes.

Oh weary Cultfitters, when o' when will you learn?
Q: Coach Simmons, how do you recommend one train for strongman? Thanks so very much for your time and consideration.
Louie Simmons wrote:We had a strongman visit us not too long ago. He trained the same as our powerlifters with respect to the core exercises. We had him do considerably more GPP work and varied his accessory training using some strongman specific movements (ex. Overhead presses after his main bench exercise).
With weights, the bulk of his training was with low box squats, good mornings, deficit deadlifts, and band pulls. We took him from barely pulling 500 lbs to 800 lbs! We did not train deadlifts for reps with our view being that absolute strength will provide the strength endurance needed for his meets. In other words, if you can pull 800 lbs for a single, you can pull 700 lbs for reps. Conditioning should come from GPP, not the weights. This is ALWAYS true and I cannot emphasize it enough. Weights are for absolute strength and GPP for more generalized endurance.

Re: The couch thread
Where did Castro even come from? I've never seen him do anything even remotely well other than primp for video and run his mouth. Rob Miller and Zach Pine and even b-boi back in thae day could put up some weight and justed worked out with out all the shit talk. Rob is an elite fucking climber for sure, but was always cool. Now all these little cunts running around aren't even strong. Butterfly kips and kipping HSPU (WTF is that about?) Petranek is even tolerable, but Castro and Budding are just fucking brutal. I want someone to call some of these assholes out. Where is a clip, newspaper, flyer or trophy from couch's gymnast days? Where is anyone who his stripper wife trained at golds gtm in the early 80s while making 6 figures? where is nayone they trained for more than 7-8 years? Why aren't @fit kids growing into elite athletes dominating sports?

My main problem with CrossFit is not so much with the concept itself but with its creator and leader, Greg Glassman who is uncompromising in his belief that CrossFit is the best solution for everything from endurance to muscle building.

Re: The couch thread
Those people (Rob, Zach, BBoi) are not involved in HQ because they have some kind of history. Tony Budding has zero training background. Nicole was a pottery teacher or some shit. Dave Castro, believe it or not, was a SEAL (supposedly team 6). Logistically, he can get shit done, but his enormous ego has caused conflicts with several of the principal players. Still, Couch likes the perceived credibility a former SEAL brings, so @F is stuck with Castro.CultBuster wrote:Where did Castro even come from? It's amazing how Couch has made it this far without anyone from his past life showing up. I don't give a shit if it's some guy from his T-ball team. It's like Couch wasn't born until he started training Eva in the corner of some dumpy ass BJJ school.

Chick in the pink appears to be a bit excited. Is it sweat or is it a bit of leakage?

Oh jeezus what exactly is the one in pink trying to do?
Maybe that's their version of ankle mobility drills, that would seem about right.
I like the classy jew guy above wearing his Capri's and grey socks to workout in.
Aren't the two fags jumping rope together, just cute and dandy?

In barely-related news, it seems that Khalipa is getting married this weekend too.

Hahahahahaha! Clearly, that was another one of Couch's gin-fueled ideas and a sad attempt to try to keep one of his top performers a happy member of the family. Wow!At the ceremony after the competition, Jolie Gentry was given the Military/LEO Award, and Jason Khalipa was given the Spirit of the Games Award after finishing almost last in the run but then clawing his way back to fifth. Aside from his poor placing in the first WOD, Khalipa placed first in two events and finished second in the last three.

With all their jingoism and false sentiment, I'm surprised there wasn't a "moment of silence for the fallen" and a "salute to troops." Maybe "Marine of the Year" award or something, handed out by Couch himself to the most Marine-like soccer mom in the ranks.POD wrote:At the ceremony after the competition, Jolie Gentry was given the Military/LEO Award
