Good thing I went pee before I saw those clips. I most certainly would have pissed my pants from the laughter had I not.

My hate has faded lately. Too much time away from my computer. I need to spend a little time browsing the @fit boards to get pissed off again.

That barbell tossing looks like fun. Maybe using a KB for a game of basketball would also be interesting. Since dribbling would be kind of hard, You'd just toss it back and forth, then go for a basket. KB hits the ground and its a turnover. I would love to watch that.
Tip-off alone would be awesome.

This got me going a bit:

These assholes are thinking WAY WAY too hard. Just workout according to your goals, and strive to add more weight to the bar. Who the fuck cares about your relative strength ratio? Unless your sport is something that requires you to be quite strong while remaining smaller, it is nothing to worry about. Even if your sport does favor relative strength, worrying about arbitrary numbers like 2x, 2.5x, 3x bodyweight still doesn't mean anything.

Based on all his other "discussions" with Twight, Jon, Cosgrowve, Boyle et alTED.com is now accepting nominations for Fellows for the next conference. They are looking for innovators, leaders in their field. I think Coach Glassman would be great and he can bring Crossfit to a large community of influential people. I don't know if he wants to attend, knowing Coach a bit, my guess is that he would welcome the opportunity to engage in discussions with other leading thinkers.
Is that an alumalite bar? 25lbs? 65? Why are you racking this?
This is shit you rack!

Re: The couch thread
I've got to disagree, bending your knees like that while doing double unders is a severe waste of energy and should not be necessary. I'm sure you didn't last more than 1 round of the video but by the second he is starting out with "sets" of 2-3.Fish wrote:The shirtless guy actually has some pretty good double unders.protobuilder wrote:That has to be a spoof.

Re: The couch thread
I generally figure that Fish doesn't know what he is talking about, so I ignored the comment and didn't even watch the clip. Being the resident rope expert, coop is right. Maybe it's the guy's first time or so at it, but he is wooden, tight, and bending way too much at the knee.coop wrote:I've got to disagree, bending your knees like that while doing double unders is a severe waste of energy and should not be necessary. A little time with a rope and double-unders are kinda trivial to do for their own sake. They are great to toss in with other moves to keep up interest when jumping for a while and to challenge your coordination by switching things up. Triple-unders or better yet quadruple-unders for time make much more sense.
But WTF, the guy in the video looks in way better overall shape than I do, even if he jumps like a cunt.

LOLOL...this level of retardedness speaks for itself:

From a link on the mainpage to an article about Cultfit Psychology...
Actually, medical testing can easily measure and prove the existence of most STDs.CrossFit doesn’t spend a lot of time talking publicly about its emotional, mental and career benefits for athletes of all ages. The benefits are obvious, but hard to measure and prove.

Not good when you're caving under 40kg. On the plus side, that @Fer has put the world on notice that he will still do his shitty thrusters even if someone gasses the place. That's elite.Joe wrote:

Re: The couch thread
I fucking hate @fit. Dumbest bullshit I've ever seen. Local "box" had a workout with 105 reps of 95# squat cleans. It's like a shitty form bomb went off.
Just needed a place to say that.
Carry on.

Re: The couch thread
@F fucked themselves over in the rope department just like they did with KBs. They took one movement that could make you tired and ignored the rest. Most kool aid drinkers couldn't do a basic bounce to save their life. On most videos you see 8 inch jumps with bent knees and hands way out wide. Of course teaching some simple bounce progressions is too much to ask.coop wrote:I've got to disagree, bending your knees like that while doing double unders is a severe waste of energy and should not be necessary. I know Buddy Lee gets shit on here, but I like the rope. It's not a cornerstone of my S&C, but I have used it throughout the years and it always travels with me.
Or maybe I like it cause I was the only cracker that could double-dutch with the black girls while chanting "down on the river..."

Some affiliates get it, some don't: if you're going to post videos of shitty technique, use women, so at least the vids have some redeeming merit. None of us want to see sweaty guys doing crap lifts with pussy weights.

Re: The couch thread
So now in addition to inventing burpees, kb swings, pull ups and box jumps @git is responsible for the spread of good form?the "full ROM virus" is spreading!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Over the last few months my friend (Pat Earley, he's on here somewhere) and I have been doing our workouts at our college. In recent weeks, we've noticed that more and more people are doing workouts with a legitimate range of motion. This is especially true of pull-ups.
Anybody else witness the full ROM phenomenon at their local globo?
Early andro gift! Bounces every rep off the floor and cant jump rope. Virtuosity. I feel the hate level dropping here, I know I had a post-RRG drop in the hate myself. Trying to catch up.
