Well, at least he's not doing weekend Gorilla certifications. Tree-swinging, andro-scoping, savagery of all kinds . . . actually sounds kind of fun. :yawinkle:

Most elite distance runners don't even have to worry about sleep deprivation or darkness. With the exception of a couple of ultras, all the elites will be finished well before dark. Then there are multiday races, but most of the big names don't participate in those.
Multidays are reserved for the hyper-insane, like the ones that suck at the tit of Sri Chinmoy and his Transcendence Group. But those are the most interesting to get actual stats on the 'specialist of specialists' that do things like run around a block in Queens, NY for 3,100 miles.

The Gorilla haz a brandz. I'll tell you right now, it's not guys buying the shirts, although you guys could tip the scales if you really wanted to stick it to the Couch. Think of it as counter-anti-consumerism.

Like Shaf has repeatedly said, I too would probably have a good time partying with Couch, so long as I managed to stay married after a weekend bender with the King of Weekend Benders. In the meantime, I've got Team Gorilla to look after.

Gonna get me a Team Gorilla. Little brother invites me to all these seminars and whatever. I want to make a message without simply wearing my Got Snatch t-shirt.

And Dan has x-fit groupies like a rock star. I always feel like a roadie, helping the throw-aways with their oly form.

Shoes? He should Barefoot Pose that bitch.

Be ready for what life throws at you, right? Do Special Operators stop if their shoes fall apart? NO!! Keep going 'til your feet look like your palms, bloody and mutilated.

Why did he have to qualify a hip shutting down with shoes falling apart? Didn't he have a pit crew or something along with him? Shouldn't they have shoes? Shoes not computing. I don't understand the shoe excuse. Was he afraid people would call BS on the hip thing so he needed a back-up excuse? It's like saying, "Dude, I couldn't make it because my car broke down, and besides, I have a nasty case of diarrhea."

I wonder how far he got?

Not that I would run for four hours under most circumstances, and certainly not in the desert. I don't like to run.

Maybe a little LSD training would have told him he had a snarky hip and that his shoes sucked ass. #-o

I'm saying this purely for constructive purposes: if you're going to move the finish line you still need to reach the finish line.
