Makes the deodorant work better actually. Hair traps bacteria. Same reason there should be no hair on the playing fields, either the front 9 or the back 9 depending where you want to tee off.Why would a dude shave his armpits??

I've got to call foul on this. Mark Bell has done more for the powerlifting community out here than anyone. It's not like there's a ton of money in owning a PL gym and publishing a small niche magazine. If he's found some people who want to learn about how to get stronger, what's wrong with making a couple of bucks doing seminars to help out and spread the word.protobuilder wrote:Is anyone other than Mark "Gimme Cash!!" I agree, exposing people to proper training, strength work and encouraging them to learn more is never a bad thing.msr2112 wrote:I've got to call foul on this. As far as the Crossfit divisions, anything that opens up the sport to more people is a good thing. We all talk about how the main thing missing from CF stuff is strength work and this will hopefully cause a few of them to start focusing on that and help grow powerlifting. Nothing wrong with that.
BTW, he's done plenty of shit for free just to help out powerlifters and the sport. He's real good people.
Also, he totaled 2601 at that meet over the weekend. Not too shabby.
If you lay down with pigs, you get muddy, and we know that Crossfit is full of pigs. Bell's only interest in Crossfit is the cash.msr2112 wrote:I've got to call foul on this. You sound like one of those hipsters who think their favorite band sold out when they started playing to an audience that was bigger then 100 people.protobuilder wrote:If you lay down with pigs, you get muddy, and we know that Crossfit is full of pigs. As for the "crossfit division," again there's no reason other than cash. Anyone can pay their entry fee and lift in the open powerlifting competition. There's no need for a separate division unless you're trying to boost entry fees.
I have no idea if Bell is directly related to Mother Theresa, but when he lets BMacNCheezy put articles in his magazine, it shows a complete lack of judgment. Or it's just another attempt to get more CASH by increasing readership.
Hey, you know what? I'm starting to see a trend here...

If you think he's making any kind of appreciable money from having a CF division at a local powerlifting meet, you're crazy.
Dude, we get it. You and Marky Mark Bell are BFFs and the fact that he's just in it for the money does not sit well with you.msr2112 wrote: You sound like one of those hipsters who think their favorite band sold out when they started playing to an audience that was bigger then 100 people.

Now look. I've eaten a pice of pie.
When we spin the pie again, the area cut out of the volume of the sphere equals fitness.
Ditto. Proto...as always, go fuck yourself. You're too busy shitting on everyhting to see value in anything. It's not selling out to make money and it's also not selling out to promote your "sport."msr2112 wrote:I've got to call foul on this. Kirk, let me make myself more clear, as I didn't mean to disparage the Special Olympics. I meant it as a separate division from the open. I wasn't commenting on the rules of PL, I know that the Special Olympics is very strict on the rules.Kirk wrote:In Special Olympics powerlifting the rules are enforced (current Special Olympics rules follow IPF so they are actually pretty strict).
