Re: Downsizing

This sums up exactly what I'm going through right now. Started out at 300+ last July. Now stuck on 265 and upping the movement to get back to my college weight of 240/250. Still like to lift the heavier stuff, but enjoying challenging myself with maintaining a fast than training progressively heavie...

Re: Been eating 95+% Meat, Fish and Eggs for 8 months

Great read. Thanks for posting. Always good to see what others are doing. I'm heavy on eggs in my diet as well. Eat meat at least once daily. Have gotten rid of almost everything that has added sugar and it makes a huge difference. Keep on chugging.

Re: Of Pistols and BW Squats

Are pistols safe for knees? My knees are healthy (for 46) and I have a little experience with pistols, but I'll reluctantly resist the urge to do them again if they're one of those things where there's a risk that's not worth the reward. I'm thinking the same thing intuitively. I'm 50. Have had 600...

Re: Of Pistols and BW Squats

I've recently fallen in love with Bulgarian split squats. I can't put my foot on a bench though. I use the bar pad in a power rack and then throw a yoga mat over it. First time I've ever found a use for a bar pad actually. :-k Bodyweight has gotten too easy, so I've started jumping and doing weighte...

Re: 2019 Goals?

Little history. At the end of last July, I nearly died at one of my events. I had eaten and lifted myself to over 300 pounds. I was strong, but fragile as I kept injuring my hamstrings and I justified eating and lifting to recover. so I made a life change. Did whole 30 for a month - became a moody b...

Agreed. Thought the arrogant nuclear engineer - can't spell the name - who was just a dick to everyone was a bit over the top, but otherwise superb.

I loved how he only threw punches anytime Joshua engaged. He wasn't used to that. it was a tactic that completely worked. counter punch city and really exposed Joshua.

Re: Do you even lift, bro?

I read the article that Luke mentioned. I did a version of this last night with the viking/landmine press and the wife jumped in too. I didn't quite do it the way it was laid out but I steadily ramped up the weight and after my final heavy set went back to my original starting weight and went to fa...

I'm having fun with "Breakdowns" as explained by Josh Bryant who got them from Fred Hatfield.

- Work up to a heavy set of 4-6
- Reduce starting weight by 15-20% for 10-15 reps
- Cut starting weight by half and then aim for 20-30 reps.
that sounds like both hell and fun. My kinda silliness.

How tall are you bruh? 5'10" But I'm pretty certain I have an over abundance of Cro-Magnon or Neanderthal in my genetic history. Size 14 shoe. 8" wrists. Could palm a basketball before getting into middle school. My arm span is 8" wider than my height - extra long arms. Woulda been nice to have an ...

Good for you on trimming down. You're obviously a serious athlete but 300 is just too big for anything good.
You are so right about that. It was too much. it was so too much. My goal is to get to 250. Same weight I was when I got my MBA 27 years ago. :supz:

Focusing on yoga right now with a 1 day a week Escalating Density 20 minute session of TBDL superset with DB Curl and Press. And still mountain biking as much as possible. I throw in abs and back/rear delt stuff when possible. My goals are to be as flexible and mobile as possible with enough streng...

Mak, my horny brother, I normally avoid topics like this but you're catching me in a transitional moment so I'll tangle with you. Since I moved into my sixth decade (I'm 61) things aren't the same anymore...but they're close. From an overall fitness standpoint i.e. limit strength, muscular enduranc...

Re: Do you even lift, bro?

How did you let yourself balloon up so big? I have started weighing myself and taking my blood pressure every day so that if either starts to climb I know right away and adjust. Seems to be working as there's no room to fool myself. sincerely, I got lost in the weight room. Kept on lifting heavier ...

Re: Do you even lift, bro?

Why do you do your throws after endurance training? And what do you do for "heavy chest" if not BP? Also, why is your momma so fat? I also do throws on the upper body day with bouncy med balls to warm up. I do the throws post endurance training because I became a fatty. Got up to 300 last year and ...

Re: Do you even lift, bro?

My old limp dick is still plugging along. I don't miss sessions. Just not heavy anymore. And I work my way up and down the perspective battle. Still training for my sport. At the moment, I'm following a three day lifting protocol; day one, lower body (squats/pulls/abs), upper body (alternating heavy...

I spoke with Bob last in September. We emailed fairly regularly; but that slowed as things worsened. He was spending most of his time sleeping and his good days were severely difficult. I miss him. I spoke with Sharon after he passed. We talked for a good bit about him and other things. He had a ver...

There's a weird thing going on where people forget Robert Byrd, an actual former Klansman, was Senate Majority Leader in the late 80s. This stuff should not be a shock. Maybe it's disqualifying, but I don't think it's impeachable. There's no second term in VA so I don't think Northam will resign. I...

i'll bite.

Continue with my life change - fasted training, whole food consumption, Long duration fasted cardio every third day, basically train as hard as my body will let me - and continue with slimming down. Ultimate goal is to weigh 250.

Whatever happens after that is just gravy.
